  2. I just missed out on a ‘17 black saloon with 44k on AutoTrader for £16.5k 😞 There’s a green one on eBay for £17k, but I’m not sure I can get on board with the colour!
  3. Hello, Due to an accident my Superb 190 has been written off. I’ve now got around 17k burning a hole in my pocket and I’m looking for a 280 Sportline... but they seem to be pretty rare below £20k. If anyone is looking to sell or is selling soon, please let me know. Cheers, Tom.
  4. Cheers fellas. JR RS - did you fit yours yourself, is it complicated?
  5. Hello, I'm considering changing the front grilles/bumper and rear bumper of my SEL Exec to the Sportline trim. I've found the front grille; http://www.superskoda.com/Skoda/SUPERB-III/Superb-III-grille-frame-SPORT-LINE-Black-magic-metallic-paint-F9R I can see some of the lower grille options here; http://www.superskoda.com/Skoda/SUPERB-III/Front-bumper/ But I'm not sure what bits I would need... I also cant seem to find the correct rear bumper unit. Can anyone advise? Cheers, Tom.
  6. I've just recently bought a used 2016 Silver 190 6-DSG SEL estate. I went for the estate as I have kids, a dog and enjoy a spot of mountain biking - I also prefer the looks of the estate, but that is of course subjective. It's not like you're going to struggle for room in the hatch though, is it? I drive BMW 530d's at work all day which have the 8 speed ZF - an amazing gearbox. I wouldn't say the DSG in the Skoda is quite as sharp as the BMW unit, but it's very good. There is a degree of customisation available within the menu, as well as the default ones including 'Eco' (Which coasts where possible - very clever) regular 'Drive' and of course 'Sport'. I understand there is now a 7 speed DSG in available in the Skoda... Not sure if that is any better? Power is fine, would maybe consider remapping it in the future (I suppose that's where the 4x4 might be handy ) but in the real world it's all you need and wafts along quite nicely. I love the car to bits though, for my lifestyle and what I need - it's nigh on perfect. I would of course love the 280 petrol... but I couldn't afford the fuel to be honest. If I'm being super picky, I would have loved one in the Sport Line trim, perhaps in white, but again budget constraints ruled it out. Mine has the 19'' Phoenix alloys, which set it off quite nicely anyway I think
  7. Just ordered those mats along with boot liner with carpet insert and a boot lip protector!
  8. They look good, cheers for the links.
  9. Hello all, I’ve been a member for a while but haven’t posted in ages. Had a MKI Octavia vRS donkeys ago and have just got rid of a MKII SE Superb 1.8TSI (dreaded oil piston rings...) Now replaced with MKIII Superb SEL 190 DSG Estate - very happy :) I’d like some new car mats, and a new boot liner for the dog with a fold out piece to cover the rear boot lip from claw scratches. Can anyone recommend? Does anyone else have any choice mods or suggestions for the car? Cheers, Tom.
  10. Yeah, my Mrs is exactly the same, she said I'm 'allowed' (Lol ) a vRS if it's not as juicy on the fuel, and providing I can pick one up for a reasonable price. I think I've managed to put forward a good case thanks to this Forum's help lol... I'd be such a miserable sod if I had a run of the mill car... It's not the fuel bills that are a massive problem, I'm mainly selling my car for the lump sum of cash. Of course, saving money on fuel is a bonus, and I think 30MPG over 19MPG is more than acceptable for me! vRS it is then! Just need to flog my ST220, and find a vRS for a decent price - Cheers fellas, and hopefully see more of you soon if I can find myself a vRS - Roll on the TURBO!
  11. Cheers for the replies guys. Unfortunately selling my ST220 to raise some cash for a deposit on a mortgage... So looking to downsize, and save money on running costs. I was originally looking at just getting a 6 Speed 130BHP Diesel Mondeo, but I was surprised to find how cheap the vRS' had become, and now pleased to see they can return over 30MPG. It appears from looking on the internet I now have two choices; 1.) Ford Mondeo TDCi 130BHP, 100k+ Miles and 50MPG for about £2500. OR 2.) Skoda Octavia vRS 180BHP, around 100k Miles and 30+MPG for under £3000... Seems obvious, but I really am trying to save as much money as possible on running costs, but I am still leaning towards a vRS. I even looked at 2.0 Petrol Mondeos and Focus', but they're not that much cheaper than their Diesel equivalents, and offer up slightly worse(!) MPG as a vRS, AND much less performance!? Man, I sound like an idiot - reading this now just sounds like I'm trying to convince myself that a vRS is somehow the logical choice in all this Help!?!?!
  12. Hi guys, As topic says, what do you reckon to this vRS? I've read the buyers guide already, very useful, but wanted some opinions; http://www.pistonheads.com/sales/1759493.htm P.S - What is the REAL world MPG? Honestly... I've seen 30-35MPG quoted, but I'm coming from a Mondeo ST220 3.0 V6, which was pretty horrific and did 19MPG and I'm a bit sceptical, as the vRS is still quite a powerful motor. P.P.S - what's the MPG with a stage one 220BHP remap like? Cheers, Tom.

    Heya

Heya, Came across the website through google, very good it is too Im looking to get a new car in the next 6-8 months or so (Bit far ahead i know!) and have really been considering a Octavia vRS. It seems to have everything i could want, decent stealthy looks, with the performance to go with it, i even hear the mileage is great along with reliability and running costs. Also the stories ive heard of you guys pulling up along side BMW's and giving them a good run for their money sounds like fun - i'd love to see some of their faces! There is however, one big factor for me when it comes to buying, actually, make that getting into a car. You see i am 6'8 (Yes the weather up here is nice) and currently drive a MK2 2.0 Ford Mondeo Zetec-S, which is very comfy for me. My biggest worry is now that ive found a car that i really do like the look of, but am i gonna fit in it? I know the obvious answer would be to go sit in one, but im a little busy with things at the moment and im afraid i wont have time for a while yet. The other car i was considering was another Mondeo, the ST200 - Similar power and spec to the vRS, around 200BHP, leather seats, trip comp, CD changer etc... but only 25MPG or so, then theres the issues finding one thats decent and reliable. Anyway basically i just wanted to know if i would firstly fit in the thing and your comments on which is the better car. (Obviously its gonna be a little biased, but hey!) Thanks, Tom.
