  1. Hi all, Quick update I have blanked off every seal and join mirror lights door etc and its made no difference noise still present. The only way to stop the noise is to blank off the front main grille, this stops it completely. Not a great idea for obvious reasons but the air must be hitting something as it passes through the grille. Will keep looking for something, but the A pillar theory not working on mine.
  2. Hi Just an update on the noise issue. My dealer noticed today that the passenger "A" pillar outside panel was not flush with the rest of the bodywork. The retaining bolt which is visible by opening the passenger door was slackened and the Panel clicked flush as it should be. The drivers side one was perfect and flush. The panel which I am refering to is the side wing which joins on to the "A" pillar close to the wing mirror. Could this be the wind issue!! worth a look to see if your "A" pillar joints are flush. This could be creating a disturbance in the air flow.
  3. Hi, I have tried moving the mirror and that doesn't work on mine, even dropping the window a few mm makes no difference, mines also has no curtain airbags. Cheers
  4. Hi, Whats even more annoying was that my retailer has had my car 4 times used my petrol and racked up the milege, and i havent even asked for anything back. I hope your retailer has better luck finding the issue Cheers
  5. Hi, Exactly a car thats built for speed as well its a bit disappointing being honest. I am more angry at how quickly Skoda dismissed me especially as my retailer told them the noise is an issue!! Cheers
  6. Hi Its a whistling sound which appears at 65mph and stays there up to 95mph. Its loud enough to notice and hear over the stereo Cheers
  7. Hi, Being honest with you I am stumped. Skoda have now washed there hands of my issue saying its a characteristic of the car, which is rubbish. Short of throwing the toys out the pram and selling my car I will give it one last go with my retailer who I have a good relationship with so fingers crossed. My retailer originally passed the issue back to Skoda Technical several months ago, who didnt come up with a fix, and with the retailer spending workshop time on my car wont get a penny back from Skoda, hence the stalemate. The dealer blanked off the main grille not the honeycomb part and this stopped the noise under testing, which would indicate wind passing through the grille creating a disturbance on something under the bonnet? . I thought it was odd that they tried that first and not the usual door seals window seal route. The best part of this is the Demonstrator the retailer has is doing it as well, so would suggest its a wider problem!! Cheers
  8. The dealer blanked off the grille Skoda are saying its a characteristic of the car!! Interesting its the drivers window, it had to be a seal / window door etc Cheers
  9. Thanks The front grille was blanked off and the noise went away, because ive had all the previous versions of the octavia vrs I know what it sounds like, just annoying more than anything really.
