  1. i think that sounds about right! i know the diesels are fetching way more!!
  2. Hi all there is a possibility i will be selling the octy.... 56 plate, vrs 2.0tfsi, metallic blue...only 10k miles..im 2nd owner..loads of extras..fsh...immaculate! had a look on various websites.....and i'm abit worried at how little they are fetching! some decent prices at main dealers...not sure what i will get for it private sale. anybody recently sold one?? what did it go for?? thanks
  3. if it helps i have just had my 2006 petrol vrs serviced by a vag specialist, only interim sevice so oil,oil filter brake fluid and full inspection, service indicator reset etc. car only done 8k miles....but service cost me £185 all in (including vat!!!!!) so it aint cheap! next year when car is 5 years old it will need full major service, and although its low miles i will change everything.oils, filters, plugs, etc.....they reckon it will be about £325 all in (pats, labour and vat!)......this is NOT including cam belt!! :(
  4. love them in silver!! .....i get @ 38mpg on the motorway doing in between 70 - 90.....but low 30's mpg buzzing around A-roads! bear in mind that ideally they should run on 98 ron petrol.....which aint cheap! they do run on normal unleaded but you can tell the difference! regardless......a quality car with 200 bhp returning anything over 30mpg is fair enough! try to get he xenon's too.......they really are brill!!
  5. go for it....and i would also go for the petrol version! i have an 06 plate in blue and the paint doesn't chip any worse than my previous cars! lots of goodies as standard on the vrs and decent mpg...depending how hard you drive it! i can get all the family and all the junk that comes with them into the huge boot with ease...you won't find a better car for the money! good luck!
  6. getting back to your original question...i had the same dilema...petrol or diesel......i have driven my mates diesel which was great...but although i like the torque on diesels, i still prefer how a petrol drives. the VRS petrol is a great drive and has plenty of low down torque. ok it won't return the same mpg as a diesel but i believe you will enjoy the drive better. at the end of the day both versions are quality cars! i was lucky as i found a mint 56 plate with only 5k miles..one owner...that's what swayed my decision!
  7. hi mate...thanks for fast reply. do you know if they look ok after being "made to fit" ?? i'll have a look for the guide....still getting familiar with the forum. cheers
  8. Hi all i am a newbie to octavia's and Briskoda! so.....just bought a 56 plate Octavia VRS TFSI......love the car......but it only has front mudflaps! so i asked the dealer for a price for the rear mudflaps ...only to be told they do them because they don't fit the VRS bumper!! is this correct...if so....are there any alternatives out there?? regards northern lad!
