  1. My June 2010 Yeti has just had its timing chain replaced after 30,000 miles but its always made a horrible noise on start up(especially when cold) It took a long time and a few years of complaining before Skoda admitted it was a recall issue. It took Skoda Fareham 3 attempts to change it! Needless to say i shall not be using this dealership out of warranty. If you have a 1.2 tsi and it makes any sort of rattle on start up get the timing chain replaced before your warranty runs out!!!
  2. My June 2010 1.2 yeti has just had the timing chain replaced after 30,000 miles. I have complained since new that occasionally on start up it sounded like a diesel! I almost gave up, but eventually skoda fareham admitted that it was a recall issue!! I am convinced that nothing would have happened had i not made a complaint every time i went in. It took 3 attempts for them to do the job and i shall not be using them out of warranty. It purrs now and made me realise how loud the noise used to be. I highly recommend the work being doneif you can get Skoda to pull their finger out.
  3. 1.2 manual is giving me 42+ MPG and over 45MPG at 70mph on cruise, cant argue with that!!!!
  4. Hi all, Love my 1.2 Elegance with sunroof in Muscavado - its the first new car(and my last) that I have bought - the nearly 4 month wait nearly killed me!. Decided to treat myself and I feel treated. My main concern after having a Passat 130bhp and then a Seat Altea with the 140bhp diesel was performance and economy. The 1.2 Tsi is amazing flexible bearing in mind is has quite a bulky car to shift and whilst its not rapid I am more than happy that if I put my foot downd and keep the revs up it will move quite quickly and sounds so quiet - wisper quiet when compared to the diesels i had. So MPG. Having just done over 1000 miles I am very impressed. On a long run from Scarborough to Southampton I got 50 MPG over the Wolds and using cruise at around 70MPH indicated gor 46.5 on the car, which when refilled was actually 45.8mpg - most impressive over 280 miles (better than my rattly Seat). However, If you give it some beans then it drops off quite quickly, but hey gotta have some fun. My overall on the car computer is just under 43, with a fair amount of town driving. Am impressed. Incidently had a tow bar fitted all in for £275, way cheaper than the dealer. Was in Aldi car park and two Yetis got together! same colour, right next to each other -bit like buses!
  5. Hi Picked up my Muscavado 1.2tsi Elegance with sunroof(fantastic!) yesterday having ordered it on the 10th Feb. The wait nearly killed me but I am so impressed with it, the engine is amazing and very flexible - dealer said they were no longer taking orders with a sunroof and the factory cant keep up with demand - fantastic buils quality and looks great!!!!!
