  1. hello all I know fabias are notorious with condensation on windscreens and it takes an age to clear but has anyone on here ever had condensation on the screen of their dials? i experienced this for the first time this morning. last year with the really bad ice i didnt have this problem once...then at a balmy 10 degrees today it happened lol no problems caused by it just a general query to see if anyone else has noticed this before?? cheers
  2. thanks moggytech....im guessing this is a dealer job and theres no idiot proof way of getting it out lol?
  3. hi guys i have done a search on here but to no avail. ive had no problems with my 6cd changer in my vrs until i took it out to change my cds around. when i put the magazine back in with the new cds, it wouldnt play them. i then tried to remove the magazine but it is now jammed and wont come out at all. when i press the eject button there is no sound or indication at all thats its going to come out. anyone any ideas on how to get the magazine out of the unit? thanks in advance
  4. thanks everyone for the responses. dont think ill bother with it then. a proper remap seems to be the way forward. with a full service on thursday there, mot in 3 weeks, insurance and tax closely following i may have to wait and save for a while yet lol. plus i have no idea of where to start or begin to look even to get this done. im in northern ireland so a google search is looking good. thanks again
  5. Just out of curiousity, has anyone on here had any experiences good or bad with these chips available on ebay for £20 that supposedly take 5 mins to fit and increase ur bhp by up to 35bhp?? seems abit too easy and too good to be true. any reviews welcome cheers
  6. No reviews under this dealer so i thought id add one. Theyr under the name of James Logan cars now, not irvine skoda although they still know theyr stuff about skoda cars. Dealt with Nigel down there when my fabia vrs was up for its 42k major service. everything went well and a courtesy car for traveling to work was offered (not asked for) which definatley helped me out and cut out alot of hassle. prices of the servicing was good as well compared to other local dealers. I was informed that the air filter or fuel filter (not sure which) had to be ordered in that day because they didnt have it in stock, and they were able to get the filter from a local company express delivered into the dealership and fitted without fuss. good experience all round and would go back without a doubt for any other problems.
  7. Some good information here folks. i dont think its my wheel bearings either but its pretty loud after about 6 mile. on a run yesterday i found braking abit heavier now and again took the noise away conisderably (not totally though) would it be anything to do with this warmer weather were getting after that horrible winter? dont know about cars much to be honest but can the pads and dics expand ever so slightly in warm weather? cheers
  8. Hi I have the exact same problem and its drivin me mad lol! no idea what it could be either so any response on here would def help. my car is due for a service soon so may mention it to mechanic if i cant find a fix on here. thanks
  9. i had the exact same problem yesterday. ur best bet is to get a diagnostic check done on it as it could be a few things. mine turned out to be a glowplug which was replaced and blew again within 24 hours (suspected faulty part) a diagnostic check usualy flashes up a fault code straight away
  10. im hoping ur right moggytech....it was a skoda dealer so i would expect it to be the right part but u never no eh lol! hopfuly with the third plug all will be good because i cant stand fault lights on my dash lol
  11. Hi folks the glowplug light on my dash came on in my 06 VRS. i had a diagnostic check done which showed that plug three was faulty. i had the plug replaced but within 24 hours the light was back on. 2nd trip to the mechanic and he informed me the same glowplug had blown, he said he would send away for another plug. has this happened to any1 else? could this just be a faulty part and a one off or something more serious? any advice would be appreciated. thanks
