  1. I spotted my first ever WRC in Leeds last week, no stickers though - likely to be leesykes?
  2. I'm with T-Mobile for mine - unlimited Internet (and never any issues with quotas unlike many of the other providers) included and I think it's something like £30 a month on an 18 month contract with unlimited texts too, great device
  3. Now then *nods* Lots of local members, will have to keep my eyes peeled on the daily grind into the office I approached the subject of a newer vRS with the lady of the house this morning and got "that look" so I think the house deposit thing is going to have to take priority for now but I think I'll be happy in a MK1 anyway, I just want to ensure whatever I get is a decent buy, no point spending £3500 on a car that then needs £3000 of work doing in the next year. Eyes are peeled, sticky threads will be read to get more of an idea for what I'm looking for and cash is waiting so hopefully I'll be able to pick something up sooner rather than later, there is a modded black one up near Aberdeen that's on Pistonheads for what seems like a decent enough price but I think I'll hold out until I've had chance to look at some in more detail. Thanks again for the friendly welcome.
  4. Thanks for the warm welcome I'm in south Leeds at the moment.
  5. I don't really have a specific budget in mind to be honest but to make the whole thing make sense I need to pick something up for as little as possible, more towards the £3000 area if possible, a MK2 would be nice but maybe that's something for me to do at a slightly later date. To be honest a MK1 will already be a massive upgrade over what I'm driving at the moment so I should be happy for a while if I get a decent one.
  6. Hi, I'm a member on lots of other forums but have only just signed up here as I've recently developed an interest in buying an Octavia vRS (1.8T). I sold my pride and joy a couple of weeks ago after owning it for 8 years and now have a need to be sensible while saving a little bit of cash, however I still want to enjoy driving and as far as I can see the vRS seems to tick all the boxes I have at the moment so I'm here to do some research and lean as much as I can. My previous "fun" car was a UK specification Supra TT with a few modifications and I also have a Puma and a daily driver Zafira - the plan is to get rid of these two as well and replace all three cars with something practical, comfortable, fun and affordable so that I can put some cash towards a house deposit and then come back to the car habit later on. We also have another Puma but will keep that as a spare car because it has a few nice mods and isn't really worth selling. I've had access to an Octavia in the past and did lots of enjoyable miles in a Laurin & Klement pool car, the only gripe I ever had was that the suspension was a little soft for my tastes so I suspect the vRS will address that nicely. Anyway I'm wittering on a bit now, time to hit the archives and start learning while keeping an eye on the classifieds Bye for now!
