  1. Hi everyone, Been a while since i was on here as i orginally signed up when i purchased my octavia MK1 elegance model. I kept that for 2 years then changed to a Leon FR, Vauxhall Insignia and now own an Audi A6 (07 plate). Well looks like im coming back to Skoda, potentially. Im seriously interestes in the MKII, 1.8TSI, Laurin & Klement model. They are good prices too, anywhere from 5000 upwards. Seems to be a fantasic equiped car, great performance (almost as quick as the VRs!). Im actually inbetween a MKII and a BMW E90, however there seems to be many more issues with the E90, not to mention after owning an Audi, the cost of parts! And also i can purchase a 2011 MKII for the price of a 07 E90!! Ive read a few bits about possible failures with the 1.8tsi engines but it really foes seem rare. I wondered if anyone could give some advice on a few things... 1. Common faults, if any. 2. I have 2 children in front facing maxi cosi seats, i sometimes have a passenger in the back but its a squeeze, whats it like in the MKII. 3. Ride comfort, my A6 is fsntastic...i dont mind a conprimise obviously but after owning a Leon FR with sport suspension not sure my body is ready for more harsh rides haha. 3. Overall good/bad qualities of the car, inside and out. Any help is greatly appreciated!
  2. I really like these cars but they seem to be hard to find... I've seen the Leon Cupra a lot but not so much the Ibiza cupra's... Might just be me Anyway an awesome car, have fun

  9. Sorry to double post folks. I picked up the car yesterday... and well i just love it to pieces, its sooo easy to drive Anyway as stated before the locking problem is still there, and yes i got two keyfobs but neither of them will lock/unlock unless i do it manually... Any other suggestions? Oh BTW: The drivers wing mirror wont operate either, but the electric window works!! Thanks
  10. Lets hope i get two fobs with mine them
  11. To be honest mate, i havent seen the other fob yet, as i have only seen/drove the car once which was last friday Not using the buttons, only manually (with the key) Makes sense Again, im not sure, but it could be a possibility I think i read this somewhere else :( Independant Thanks for your help i will try a couple of the thing you said, and i hope that filled in some gaps for you
  12. Hello all, I have found a couple of these threads/topics before, but have never seen a 'definitive' anwser. I am im the process of buying an 03 octavia MK I elegance 1.9TDI, there is only one problem with it and the garage is currenlty trying to fix it because i have a 3 month waranty. The issue is that if i use the keyfob (remote) to unlock the car it wont do it, but if i physically put the key in the lock and turn it then its absoloutly fine. I have to pick up the car today because otherwise they cant have their money for like 2weeks and i want the car now Anyway they told me the solenoid had corrosion so they replaced it along with the door lock control and the window motor.... But it is still doing it So they said when it is convenient to me just drop it off sometime so they can get ther 'electrician guy' to look at the wiring, which is fair enough, but i didnt know if there is anything else i can try to fix it myself? My plan is to try and re-program the key as a trial to see if that helps. Any other tips/trick for people who have had same problem??? Thanks for reading/ responding slim123

  15. Hello everyone. I come from Gloucester, UK Im 20 years old I have had 3 cars since i passed my test at 17 and now i wanted a diesel  My first car was a 52 plate Vauxhall Corsa Life 1.0 12v, i actually quite liked the car except it wasnt powerful enough for me so i changed it a year later. My second car was/is a Ford Focus 1.6 zetec hatchback, again i like this car but it got a bit 'thirsty' around town etc. And obviously now im im the process of buying my third car which is an Octavia 03' 1.9 TDI 110. Octavia Spec: Year: 2003 (03') Model: Elegance 1.9TDI 110 Mileage: 51,000 Owners: 1 (before me) And FSH!! As soon as i drove it i straight away felt like i had owned the car for years... It was soo easy to drive Anyway i will post some pics up when i get it, and let you guys know exactly what i think Thanks
