  1. Finally got mine approved for repair StuFan have you had yours done yet?
  2. Nothing yet, i took it in last Friday, they measured the paint thickness and took some photos. Mine hasnt cracked yet so is quite difficult to see but the paint is bubbled. They did say it could take between one and two weeks to get a reply. Ill post when i hear.
  3. Im certain its rust that has started at the holes where the spoiler is attached. Ive noticed some bubbling on my 2014 vrs in exactly the same area. I took it to the dealer on Friday for them to raise it with Skoda. I really hope they cover it with the bodywork warranty, its only going to get worse thats for sure.
  4. Had front door seals changed by the dealer 2 years ago, not happened since. Imagine what happens when all that water freezes during the winter months!
  5. It really sounds like 2013/14 models have a faulty pump design. Mine went the same way at 32k miles a few months ago. If you have a dealer service history id suggest you push them to see what contribution they might get for you. Skoda CS suggested that any contribution cost was for the dealer to pay, which seems quite unfair as they didnt manufacture the item!
  6. I was quoted the same, well a bit more actually. They said it was £350 of parts and 3.5 hours of labour. As my car was low miles and only 6 months out of warranty i got it done for £300 after asking them to see what Skoda UK might offer, however im still pushing for something more off this price. They said they would do it for the £485 when i pushed them on the national pricing, though they had to get back to me on this.
  7. Ok, it was my error it wasnt £720 it was £785!!! I asked them why so much, and also that the Skoda UK price is £485. After checking they said it would be done for £485. They have also said they will contact Skoda UK for me to see what else can be done to cover some cost as its lowish mileage and just out of warranty. Booked in for Monday, so lets see how it goes. Do you think i should contact Skoda directly? Does anyone have any contact details they could share?
  8. Just checked the skoda website, it lists a cambelt and water pump at £485 . So ill be looking for at least half that cost for a known common fault.
  9. Totally agree, ill update when i get the final figure. Ive bought cars that cost less than £720!
  10. Mines booked in with skoda, 2014 with 32k on the clock. They have quoted £720 which is shocking, so ive told them i expect skoda to cover a good deal of that cost. A local indy has quoted me just over £350 for the same work. The dealer has told me the part is on back order so at present im driving very carefully with the heating on max!
  11. Orville, thats good advice for me however, as im in sunny Wales Lets hope the OP gets it sorted.
  12. I hope its to swap the car over for a brand new top spec superb! They have only mentioned water pump replacement at present, i wonder if its including the cam belt. Would it need changing after 32k miles? Ive told them im not happy with that, i have a full service history with them, 6 months out of warranty, and my third skoda in 12 years. They also cant do it tomorrow as the pump is on back order, that says it all really doesn't it.
  13. Cheers, yep i got the impression it wasnt the first time the person on the phone had gone through these symptoms.
  14. I got the dreaded warning to pull over and stop and the temperature gauge at 130 degrees on my 2014 VRS last friday. Im sure the warning was in red text even though ive only got the monochrome display! I pulled over, put the heater on max and sure enough it went back to normal temp within a minute. Booked in Thursday this week, 6 months out of warranty. I have full service history and 32k on the clock. I will not be happy if a good deal of the cost isnt covered.
  15. Mine was doing the same, early 2014 vrs, it took a few visits to the dealer to get it sorted. The unit in the glove box was changed, that didnt fix it, then the screen was changed, fingers crossed its been ok since. If left in phone mode it would give a random contact a call if it felt like it! Be aware i had to supply video evidence that it was happening before a repair could be made........
  16. I guess in the same way it knows when to apply hill hold assist?
  17. Yep, geminis on mine. Ill see what i can do to patch it up today, im most worried about lifting lacquer.
  18. Id agree that the design is asking for damage. I never damaged an alloy on my mk1 fabia vrs or my mkii octy over a 10 year period. 6 month into owning a mkiii octy vrs ive scraped the nearside front alloy already
  19. Hi GAFF, Have they confirmed the noise is present and not normal?
  20. Ive got this too, in my case it doesnt seem as bad as that in the video. The noise appears concentrated on the passenger side (uk). I have a 2014 octy tdi vrs. I would be very interested in what is causing it before i visit the dealer. ive only had the car 4 weeks or so and hadnt noticed it until recently.
  21. Second to none in the area, worth a trip even if you are within a 30 mile radius. Excellent staff, showroom waiting area and coffee. Just had my mkiii Octavia serviced there. Ive been using them for nearly 10 years and they have always been great.
  22. Their 5w30 (507) comes in at £28, which is a good price. So happy i didnt post this (also made by the same company) when it was down to £14 a few months ago http://direct.asda.com/ASDA-5W30-Fully-Synthetic-Oil---5L/001023765,default,pd.html
  23. nice one, you got the link for the triple qx (most likely made by Tetrosyl as the A1 brand is) for £14.99? 507 spec too?
  24. Im most interested to hear, and maybe convinced by any valid reasons why not?
