  1. Mine did this ended up replacing abs sensors and a reluctor ring on the wheel bearing and it stopped get someone with vcds to scan it for you
  2. Where abouts are you based in barnsley? My mrs lives in elsecar
  3. I would still guess at a dodgy abs sensor tbh i know mine was reving up and cutting the speedo as it thought one wheel was doing stupid speeds and thw other 3 were going like 30-60.
  4. Does your speedo cut out at any point or rev its self up? Mine came up with the same lights and turned out to be a reluctor ring on a wheel bearing. My best guess would be abs sensor something like that but to be sure it will need to be scanned. Although.it wont tell you which wheel it is the fault is at if it is that just tells you its on one of the wheels iirc.
  5. try lowering the windows with the key in the door and leave it turned to open for about 5 seconds after fully down the do the same closing the windows that usually resets auto windows so im guessing will reset the windows so they work
  6. Have you looked at the cable running to the starter? It's only a small cable and can pull lose from the connector causing intermittent starting and try running a multimeter on that cable and seeing ir the starter is receiving power!
  7. mine was taking ages to start like 20-30 seconds but i had a look last night and my lead on my starter motor was loose so hopefully that will sort the problem
  8. if my car is not driven for a day atm while its cold it takes a little bit longer to turn over and kind of sounds like the starter motor is sticking but obviously it isnt as the car starts every time all be it a few seconds later on. does anyone have any ideas? would spraying the starter motor with wd40?
  9. sounds like you have negative camber which could be solved by camber shims but to correct it properly you would need a full geometry check first
  10. my fronts go lower than that with the helpers in and im running joms fitted them myself in about 2 hours but helpers will be coming out soon just to get that little bit lower
  11. now thats what im thinking the wider the better time to start saving i think and looking for wheels i like for the fab
  12. yeah i agree tbh and was thinking the same its just one of the many stupid ideas i have . looks like the gf will be getting he xmas present replaced by alloys instead lol. ( at least she will be able to look at her present )
  13. has anybody stretched the tyres on standard alloys i have to change my tyres soon and like the look of stretched tyres but cant afford to change the alloys for a while.
  14. it sounds like its the rear bushes on the wishbone as i had the same problem and just changed mine. i payed £54 for powerflex bushes as no press is needed with them and if i hadnt have snapped a bolt i could have done both sides in lets just say 2 hours including jacking the car up etc and putting back down again so if your confident with diy i say buy the parts and give it ago if not try a local garage
  15. i have my joms all the way down and dont have any problems the first week or so you will catch stuff then after that you tend to either avoid roads or slow right down to go over stuff and your fine then. will be taking adjusters and helpers out soon i think just for that little bit extra lows
  16. from what i can work out aslong as the wishbone sits back in the steering clamp etc everything is ok as it doesnt give much room to be wrong so by the sounds of what your saying it all sounds fine to me

  18. Actually no I didn't I fitted power flex bushes and cut one of the Cupra bush out of the console I used so the passenger side is still fitted ! I did this because I didn't have access to a press to put them in so I bought the power flex bushes originally for ease of fitting then I had the problems with the console so bout them too. Thus leaving me with both types but the power flex comes with a life time guarantee so I chose to fit them still. Although I think that it sat flush with the power flex bushes not that this helps but the power flex bushes are bigger as you have a lip both sides to hold it in
  19. it took me a while to refit my consoles the other day after changing the bushs. i also had the same problem trying to get the wishbone bolt lined up to bolt to the console but found if i lifted the wishbone to get the bolt in the pushed the wishbone down once the bolt was in i could get it to line up although this did take me around an hour of trying and cursing to figure out so hope it helps.
  20. after reading all the way through this thread its made me realise 2 things.. 1. i need to start putting pics up 2. i need air ride but funds say no right now :(
