  1. I have a business grey Yeti and tried and failed to upload a photo for a previous thread...but did succeed in getting a flurry of spam mail from photobucket ever since. The Autotrader photo on my screen is pretty accurate. I changed from Aqua blue, and side by side the business grey was a darker shade but a similar look. I'm very pleased and have had lots of positive comments on the colour ....people say it looks more distinguished or 'classier' than the aqua blue.
  2. Michelin Primacy 3 on my 1.2 SE......only managed 17 miles on mine!
  3. Hi ganga...no, just ordered the LA....ordered first week in January and due to be built next week so delivery early/mid March probably.
  4. 1.2 SE ordered start of January.....due to be built next week. week 5 so should be here early/ mid March.
  5. Yes, I have a replacement 1.2 on order ....plenty of poke for me, in fact surprisingly nippy especially around town, as long as it's not too loaded down. I've ordered light assisrant amongst a few other things and am expecting the mirror because of associated sensor to be in the higher position.
  6. I needed all four discs replacing at 30000 miles....dealer wouldn't let me take the car away at service as they said they were unsafe. Poor material/manufacture in my opinion.
  7. I too have recently ordered a 1.2 SE and was debating the sat nav / android auto route. The things that swayed me towards ordering the Amundsen unit were as follows. Android auto will use the car GPS reciever which should be better than the 'phone especially if the 'phone is tucked away in a neat place eg in the cubby near the USB connector. Not sure if Android auto will give turn indication in Maxidot display which would be useful given the low position of the display. 'Phone needs Android 'lollipop' to work ...your Nexus is fine but I'm still waiting for my Samsung S5 mini to receive the update...some older 'phones will not be updated. As has been stated, for full functionality you will need a data connection to provide the maps and real time information although as your salesman stated Google now allow downloading map data for offline use, but I think this is time limited and would need to be downloaded again from time to time (every 30 days?? ) Although I also 'like tech' I know it doesn't always perform perfectly so went for belt and braces....having the security of the built in unit (free map updates for life now) with the option to use the new tech if more appropriate.
  8. Many thanks...helpful as usual.
  9. Could anyone please advise as to whether the Amundsen unit currently offered in the Yeti is the same as in other Skoda cars? If so, what is the screen size. The configurator indicates 5.8 inches but other Skoda sources such as the update portal gives 6.5 inches, the same as the Bolero. Also, does anyone have experience of using Smartlink for Navigation with the Bolero unit and if so your feedback would be welcomed.
  10. I haven't recorded MPG figures recently but as you can see from my post in 2011 (#87) I got a 3 MPG increase on switching to Momentum. The original post was related to Maxidot accuracy...mine seemed pretty accurate. I'm still getting 43 to 44 averages on the Maxidot using Momentum, and 46-47 on motorway cruising within legal limits. http://www.briskoda.net/forums/topic/156147-12-tsi-real-mpg/page-3?hl=%2Bmicrolite#entry2540136
  11. I use Tesco Momentum which is 99 RON so don't think that's the problem.
  12. I have the same issue....due first service in few hundred miles so was going to mention it then.
  13. No problem folding the centre rear seat forward if you remove the head rest and depress the seat back as stated in the hand book. ''Fold the middle rear seat backrest forwards in the same way, then pull once more on the lever ⇒ page 74, fig. 68 and press the seat backrest downwards until it is heard to lock into a lower position.''
  14. My average over the last 3000 miles has been 44.7mpg logging the results using fuelly. Best tank gave 48mpg. interestingly the Maxidot long term average gives almost exactly the same figure. These figures are with use of Tesco momentum fuel which claims to give better mpg. In my case this would seem to be correct as Maxidot average on standard Tesco fuel over the previous 10,000 miles was around 41.5mpg. It would seem the extra 5 pence per litre is well worth it .
  15. No problem with my 1.2TSI either.
  16. Not so sure....if you look closely the rear lip on the liner for the upper boot is quite shallow.
  17. If you have a look in the manual page 75 you'll find this information "Fold the middle rear seat backrest forwards in the same way, then pull once more on the lever ⇒ page 74, fig. 68 and press the seat backrest downwards until it is heard to lock into a lower position." Once the backrest has been compressed in this manner it folds like the other seats even with the centre box in position. There's no need to unclip the seat and indeed I would suggest it's potentially dangerous to have the seat unsecured in case of accident . Hope this helps.
  18. Thanks Llanigraham, but my querie was about the rim size...tread width eg. 205 or 215 of the actual tyre can be had on either 6 or 7 inch rims it seems, and it's the pros and cons of this that I was not clear about.
  19. Hi all, I'm looking to buy some winter tyres on 16 inch rims. Obviously lots of options, but choice of rim seems to be between 7x16 and 6x16. 6x16 are cheaper so I would appreciate views as to what avantage there might be to paying extra for 7x16.
