  1. Yes, it is the buckle. You can tell because when it happens if you jiggle the buckle (or rather the bit on the belt that clips into it) it goes away. I replaced the stalk with the buckle and that fixed it.
  2. Hi. Old thread, but I'm certain the problem is with the insides of the buckle clasp. Haven't had a look yet, but maybe it can be opened or at least replaced?
  3. Not sure what sort of thing you mean - performance or comfort (toys)? For performance an ECU flash is best bang for buck. Something like the Superchips Blufin. Toys wise there are things like a Columbus radio/sat nav unit (if your car does not have one already). Bluetooth, parking sensors and/or camera. Plenty of info to be had just by further looking around this site, or one of the Skoda add on specialists like this mob: http://www.carsystems.pl/?a=sklep&kategoria=8 Handling - I've got polyurethane bushes and they're ok, but not really much of an improvement. I reckon the Koni FSD shocks are really nice. Comfort and sporty - pretty much what they say they are.
  4. I put Polk Audio speakers in my Octavia (along with amp, processor and dynamat). Full write up here: http://www.vwwatercooled.com.au/forums/f78/planning-nice-audio-upgrade-rns510-octavia-94253.html
  5. Is that a guess, or do you know it returns even after using that ECS kit? As I understand it the bolts used are not the standard ones. Or are you saying even with those bolts it still happens (I don't know. Just found those when looking for bolts to do my front anti roll bar and shocks).
  6. Have you seen these? Supposed to solve this issue. Much cheaper: http://www.ecstuning.com/News/MKV_Subframe_Spacer/ES2102460/
  7. There are two seal lips in the seal on the inside of the glass - the big one you can see, and a smaller one further up inside. The inner one is very hard to see, you can pull the seal out of the channel so you can open it up to have a look (just pops back ). I think the G3 clips go inside the smaller seal. Not a great design as that pushes the seal away from the glass so you lose the seal where the clip is leaving just one sealing edge to keep out weather and dust. I have the G3 deflectors in with no clips to see how they go.
  8. Flickr doesn't seem to be behaving itself. Can't get it to show just the pics I want to show.
  9. Ignore the last link above. Use this one - a series of photo's showing the issue I have with the clips. https://flic.kr/p/oBjWSG
  10. I got these ones http://www.micksgarage.com/proddetails.aspx?pid=3305302 Just to check that my window seals are the same as what you have there (I can't see why they would be different) here's roughly what I have https://flic.kr/p/oBfGct
  11. I got the G3 ones for the front from Micks Garage, but the clips don't have anything to bite into and just fall out. They seem designed for older style rubber profile sealed windows, not the furry ones I have.
  12. Just put F&R sensors in my car, but first it didn't work because I didn't realise you had to tell the Can gateway (item 19, gateway installation list) you had put them in (add Code 10), which I did do, BUT ALSO then go into the park assist module (item 10) and using the Long Code Helper turn it on and turn on the video display (a check box), also which car picture you want. Now discovered the front sensors are connected the wrong way around - I went down the right side of the engine bay, so the first sensor is on the right, last in the chain is on the left of the car, but on the RNS510 they show reversed. I need to have the first connected on the left, last in the chain on the right of the car.
  13. You might have what I have. About 10mm play in the steering wheel. This is caused by the sliding joint at the bottom of the steering column. Inside it there's some plastic or epoxy kinda stuff that must have been damaged or for some other reason is no longer there. Stupid thing is you can't but just that joint - you have to buy the whole column ($960 here).
  14. My air conditioning has lost its refrigerant. Doesn't go cold and got these errors: 005697 - Please check DTC Memory of A/C Controller P1641 - 000 - - Intermittent 00229 - Refrigerant Pressure 002 - Lower Limit Exceeded - Intermittent In the Haynes manual it says because the AC compressor has no clutch it shouldn't be driven because the refrigerant is the lubricant for the compressor. Does anyone know if that's correct? Can I drive the car (just until I get the AC fixed) with the AC off (Economy button pressed). Car (Octavia) has Climatronic AC.
  15. New sensor solved the cam one. The others have gone after clearing.
