  1. I've just got my car back from being repaired, including having a new bumper, bonnet and wing sprayed. The colour match was absolutely spot on (race blue) and you would not notice the difference. (Did notice that it came back swirly!!) Cost alot less than £1000, and i'm sure the paint will be better than stock as i asked not to be too tight on the paint on laquer lol. Definitely worth asking for a quote from other reputable sources for a respray or pursue the scratch repair company! Hope it's all sorted soon though!
  2. I bet you can't wait to get behind the wheel of the new vRS! It was definitely worth the wait for me, however just waiting for it to come back repaired after a slight dink on the front end after two months!! :'( If it's got Xenons i'd say make sure that they configure the bendy lights and also the corning fogs! They were never configured on mine and i wish they had been! As for running in, although they say they don't have a running in period and that the engines are bench tested before being fitted it is wise to remember that the other components of the car don't get such a luxury. I drove mine normally for the first 600 miles or so and then gradually upped the revs and gave it a few full throttle runs after that. Performance has definitely improved aswell as the economy. Don't drive like a granny but also don't drive everywhere in sport mode! Just make sure the oil temp is up above 70 (you can see this on the maxidot) and then go enjoy the car :p Look forward to seeing the pics when you get it!
  3. Love it, looks really nice! Really liking the look of silver, it's a colour that really sets off the vRS!!
  4. Thanks guys, i can't believe the woman i hit is claiming whiplash!! I mean all it did was barely bump her and it did the damage hitting her spare wheel on the back of the 4x4. It just lost no speed at all on the brakes and slid for probably about 100m. I know if the winter tyres were on it would have stopped. So far its looking at a new bonnet, bumper and grill. Luckily no wing damage or head lights. Just crippled me now financially for xmas. Tried ringing the insurance company and they had an automated message to ring back within 48hrs due to the high demand of phone calls! So i'm sure im not alone in this weather madness!
  5. Perhaps this is a warning of what happens on sheet ice with summer tyres. Had the car less than a month and with only 800 miles on her. The annoying thing is that i have got a set of winter tyres and steelies on order. 10 mph into a 4x4! Take care out there people, now time to lose 2 yr ncb and £750 excess And here it was in all it's glory!
  6. My car has been built after waiting for what seems ages (ordered 2nd June) and i'm like a kid at christmas waiting for it to turn up now! I realsed that there are quite a few people on here who have been given a wk 44/43 build date and i was wondering how we could track our cars coming into the country. Skoda u.k. have quoted me 3 weeks till i will get the car and the dealer a week! I'd imagine that it would get shipped to sheerness as i live in kent, but all the ships seem to go to grimsby so is this just the standard port for skoda? Feel free to post up your information and any news with ships! The wait is almost over!!!!!
  7. I feel for you, week 50 is a joke considering it was ordered in June and i thought i had it bad!
  8. heres Mine Order Date ...........................Colour..............Type..............Spec...............................................................................Engine.............Production 2nd June Week 22.............Race Blue.......Hatch............DSG/ Rear Parking Sen/Full VRS leather/Xenons ..............Diesel.............Build Week 44! Annoyed as it was originally BW38 but i guess it is just a lottery at the factory!
  9. I ordered mine on the 2nd of June and have now been told build week 40!! This really is a complete lottery!
  10. Likewise for me too. New to the forum, so hello everyone! I've got an order placed for: VRS CR DSG in Race Blue Xenons, Leather, Auto Lights, Rear Parking Sensors, Spare Wheel The order was placed at the very beginning of June (2nd i think) and i have got a build week of 38 (20th Sep) and estimated delivery of wk 40 i believe. Never got the information off the dealer however Skoda Customer Services gave me the build week, my factory order number and have told me i can ring them as often as i like to check for any updates to the cars progress. I was told however informally that this could be being pushed forward when the factory re-opens and to ring and check at the beginning of august. The wait seems to be never ending!
