Will the gearboxes mate together without any problems? Not too worried about the lift pump, I usually have one anyway because it helps when running veg The ecu shouldnt be too much of a problem I can always pick one up for the ASV engine if its different to the ones with pd engines

I didn't mean go and buy a new engine and so on, I already have a good ASV engine. I just want to know can the engines be transplanted, or is there something different about the engines that they cant be transplanted ie engine mounts different, gearbox wont fit and so on

If I got a mk1 with a PD engine and the 6 speed box in it, how easy/feasable is it to change the engine for a non pd type say an ASV engine? I'd like a top of the range Octavia with the 6 speed box, hid lamps etc but with the non pd engine (I use veggy oil and the pd can't run on it)

Anyone know what size I'd need for the 1.9tdi ALH engine's injectors? I replaced the injectors yesterday but there's a tiny bit of blowback and I don't want to overtighten them It was fairly hard to get out, I had to use an injector puller and it was sooty Or does anyone round Manchester have one I can borrow for half an hour to sort it out? Has anyone modded their sidelights so they come on with the ignition - ie turning them into daylight running lights? Anyone got any ideas how to do it? Would it cause a problem having rear sidelights on during the day or should I mod the lights so only the front ones come on with the ignition?

I have an 1.9tdi Octavia mk1 with ALH engine and Auto box I have just got new reconditioned nozzles but because my nozzles were the smaller 0.156 nozzles used in the auto the cost of getting these recondtioned was too expensive so we decided to have the "normal" 1.9tdi stock 0.184 nozzles Because the nozzle (and the fuel pump is 11mm instead of the manusls 10mm) is larger I'll need to check and probably adjust the injection quantity withg VCDS Does anyone know the correct settings please? (and the vcds measuring blocks where I check/adjust it)

I was going to ask that question once I knew they were what I was after I don't have HID's at the moment, what else would I need Obviously ballasts, and the right cable conversion to make them fit my plugs I'm assuming I would need the ballast (ignitor unit)? 1U0941641 and I probably need the control unit for the HID's 1U0941651 Anything else I'd need?

ah right> i thought the indicators were built into the headlamp (not been outside today to look at it)

Resurrecting this topic Can anyone tell me if this is suitable for my 2002 Octavia Ambiente ebay part number 350709802595 Link* http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/350709802595 Mine has the front fog lamp but I'd rather have hid's to be honest If this is the correct headlamp, I'm assuming one of the "projector" lenses is for the fog lamp? If so what happens to the indicator? Or if it isnt right can anyone show the the right one please? and again if it doesn't have the fog bulb in it, do I just put an aftermarket fog lamp by the bumper or what?
