They were closed. I ordered a diesel vrs 2nd week in May. Dealer called me the Monday after to say it was cancelled by the factory. Order books are now open, I reordered about 4wks ago now. Spoke to dealer on fri and order is accepted with a build week 48. But reckons this will change to earlier when factory gets back to full flow after the summer shut down. Hope so I want the car asap!

It's ordered. I've ordered one from Chesterfield and my mate has ordered his in Cannock. Not sure about petrol we have both ordered diesel. Dealers cannot order demos or stock motors. They can only order for Joe Public. App it's to try and clear the back log up, whether that's right I don't no.

Not long then in the scheme of things! Lol.

They knew the specs yea. Showed me all their info skoda have given them, but did say skoda could add/adjust it as the factory reopens and the cars start being made. I want to order mud flaps but we dealer/me aren't sure if the bumpers may have changed. I would have ordered it regardless, been waiting for the order book to open again since our order in May was cancelled by the factory. The vrs just ticks all of our families boxes for a car.

Finally managed to order my new Vrs yesterday. Diesel, dsg, (my first auto car ever, although had auto trucks since 2004) front an rear sensors, folding mirrors, winter pack and metallic paint. Dealer reckons 20 wk delivery! Is that about right? When I ordered the vrs that got cancelled by the factory in May that was meant to be delivered end July/mid August. Does anyone know what the new build spec is like for this year yet?

So ordered a new vrs diesel again today. Let's hope the factory take the order this time. Vrs, diesel, dsg. You cannot order a manual now. Only downside dealer reckons about 20wks for delivery, surly this carnt be right can it???

You cannot order Golf gti or Golf gtd. I have spoke to jct600 and parkway both said order books closed. There is a direct replacement pending for the petrol, but no replacement for the diesel. Skoda uk said that to me this morning.

Just spoke to jct600 at Sheffield regarding a Golf. Vw have closed the book on the Gti and Gtd. She said don't no why nothing to do with 2019 build swap over they got a memo on Monday to say no orders been accepted. Wonder if they are going to get new engines in them?

Update Customer services just called The petrol version is comming back September ish for ordering. Diesel no replacement has been given for this engine. Reading between the lines he doesn't think that there will be as all information given by skoda says no direct replacement at all. Surely they won't not make a diesel vrs? Looks like a change of make then.

Just spoke to customer services. The dealership shouldn't have taken my order, they have all known this was comming for months/order books closed and it is all to do with the new type approval/emmissions tests. He cannot see the order book opening again for a number of weeks, he mentioned September and deliveries are months away. He is looking into why they took my order now and getting back to me later today.

They have looked to see what stock is about but nothing that take my fancy. Just hope they get it sorted sharpish. When does the 19 build year come out?

The order was put in he sent me confirmation of it. It's supposed to be something to do with new engines/emmision ratings. They have no idea when orders will be taken again though

Afternoon I ordered a new vrs diesel manual 3 weeks ago. Just had a call off of the dealer saying they have got to cancel the car as skoda have pulled both petrol and diesel engines and closed the order book. Apparently there are 3 on the production line and when they have gone that is it. They don't no when the order book will reopen, so they cannot fullfill our deal. Gutted is an understatement. Has any one else had this call, or can give me some more info. Thanks
