  1. Hi Rick, sorry for the delay. Wanted to drive the car for at least a week before I gave you an answer. It has been snowing quite a lot here in our Town so most of the journeys have be slow driving. First time with non-studded tyres for a very long time. What a difference in noise comparison. Now as to whether the ride is good or not. I like it. I would like to take a longer journey to test them out but I'm very happy so far. Not harsh and not too soft. My trims have completely different types of tyres on them so the comparison is not going to be fair. I am with both.

  6. I've done the June update and all my personal addresses etc. are still in place
  7. I don´t think it is possible to regulate. So far it is the only thing that I don´t agree with the S3. The designers made a mistake here.
  8. Yes, I should have mentioned that D402. I also wondered why I couldn´t proceed until I realised that the SD card was locked.
  9. Yes, you will find my tread on this called "The Torax" back in April
  10. I have Amundsen in my L&K and the ECE was 2016 at delivery. On the Swedish site the only update available up until the end of May was 2016. The site now shows 2016/2017 so I decided to update. The 2016 files were from 2015-08-17. Using Windows 10 the new file was downloaded using a downloader program supplied by Skoda on their site. I was asked where I wanted to download the zipped file and thereafter where I wanted to unzip the downloaded file. Very simple and without any hassle. All over within 10-15 minutes. Once done I placed the SD card in the car and there was no need for any uploading of the new files to the unit. As soon as the car started the new maps where immediately there to be used. Previous journeys that I had saved were also available and the unit shows that the maps are now ECE 2016/2017.
  11. You found the word I was looking for. Although we have not heard any noise from the rear suspension we had our car fixed on Tuesday and driving after that has been a different experience. I thought the feel and drive of the car was great before but so far now I think it is excellent. It feels like it is "floating".
  12. Sorry, I thought I had mentioned the problem in an earlier post but it seams like that post didn´t get uploaded. I had even included some links. From what I have followed here on Briskoda the washer "problem" can be summarised in lack of power (I´m no expert on what has been described by some here though). Let me try to describe what I have picked up: some are getting only one or two jet sprays per nozzle others three from one and one or two from the other. Others are expecting a fan like spread but are not getting it. Again, I don´t know if I have a problem or not as I get a fan like spray and it looks like three jets from both nozzles. The only thing I can really comment on is the spray is not as forceful as what I had on the S2. The service team at Möller Bil don´t seem to think it is a problem at all. To be honest though as I mentioned earlier they only went out and tested on one other car and got the same results as produced by my washers. If I can find the threads here on Briskoda again I will link to them.
  13. Left the car in at a little after 7 this morning and was given a call at 2.45 saying that it was ready. Spoke to the salesman before I left the showroom and he mentioned that they had only recently received information from Skoda about this problem and the solution. The service department had already mentioned to me what they had done and this was also confirmed by the salesman. Exactly what "difference" has mentioned in an earlier post. I once again remarked that I had not heard this noise nor "shakes or rattles" and was very happy with our car. The salesman mentioned that he wanted to keep us a very happy customer and therefore told their service team to contact me as one of the first. He mentioned that they only had a handful of customers that have complained about this. According to him it only shows up on a few cars. My impression is this is not a problem that Skoda is going to actively go out and declare as a problem that has to be solved rather if the customer complains it is up to the dealer to solve this. Concerning the washers there was no solution. All they had done was compare it with another car and that was similar. Did get a kind of partial acknowledgment that compared to our S2 there was a difference. Was told that they will follow this up when I have the car in for its first service or if Skoda should send out a bulletin about this. On the whole I am still very impressed with the service given by our dealer Möller Bil and would still continue to recommend them. And, as far as the car is concerned, it is still Superb. Edited: I should also mention that I had planed to by some Skoda cleaning products when I went to collect our car. When I asked to pay I was told "this is on us" - £25 :-)
  14. Well what do you know. Yesterday I sent "difference" Skoda report to the dealership that we bought our car from. I made a comment whether I should be speaking to the service manager. Now just a few minutes ago I received a call from the service department saying that I had problems with knocking and that they would fix it. Very interesting since I have not complained about knocking sounds only that others have been talking about it and that Skoda Stockholm had started carrying out a fix to this problem. Anyway, I played along and now our car is going in to have this fix done on Tuesday next week even without my complaining. I can only summarise by saying that opening ones mouth gets results even when not expected. Not sure if I am pushing my luck but I have asked them to have a look at the washers at the same time (some here have mentioned having problems). Again, no problem for me but who knows maybe this is a similar type of problem. It exists and is known about but nothing gets done until it has to. Edited: I think it is in its place to thank "difference" - THANK YOU!
  15. My dealer has been very quite. After reading "difference" post I sent them a new email today including the description given to "difference" by Skoda. To be honest I haven´t been chasing my dealer since I just don´t hear this noise. It will be interesting anyway to hear what they say.
  16. Interesting comment about updating using a USB. I don´t think I have read that anywhere else. Anyone know if this will also work on the Amundsen?
  17. Have been keenly following this tread but Im wondering if my car was delivered with the May update aleady installed. The car according to VIN was produced the 25th February and it was in Sweden around the 28th March. I picked the car up the 1st April. At that time I checked the navigation data date and it showed ECE 2016 (version 0521). The update portal shows that the latest update is ECE 2016. So my question is, do I already have the update? If so, then the so called May update is well not that up to date. Or maybe it is and I should update. Appreciate your comments.
  18. Time for my next update. Weather has been mixed from freezing to almost 20 Celsius. That meant some mornings the Webasto was in use and on other days the use of the ventilation in the seating was a relief. Kept the car in ECO the majority of the time whilst driving to and from work. This time round deliberately let the fuel gauge drop well into the red before refuelling. Was curious to know how much I could fill her up. So with the needle almost hitting the lower limit the amount of fuel in the tank could take us other 45km. So how much fuel could be filled into the tank with the needle almost hitting the lower limit? The answer: 68 litres. There has been some talk on this forum as to the size of the tank. I wouldn’t presume to categorically say that I have a much larger tank than the 66 litres mentioned in the brochure but it does seem to be larger. So filling the tank with 68 litres and having driven 881km from the last fill up has given an average of 7.72 l/100km (36.59 mpg). Long term stats as shown in CAR: Travel: 3292 km (2411 km) Average speed: 43 km/h (43 km/h) Travel time: 76:56 h (55:40) Average fuel consumption: 7.8 l/100km or 36.23 mpg (7.9 l/100km or 35.76 mpg) Since refuelling: Travel: 881 km (878 km) Average speed: 42 km/h (54 km/h) Travel time: 21:15 h (16:25 h) Average fuel consumption: 7.6 l/100km or 37.17 mpg (7.3 l/100km or 38.70 mpg) (previous figures within brackets) Here are some photos from the info display and CAR (looks like it is time to clear some of that dust :|)
