  1. This was absolutely so helpful that it took me 1.50 to replace the alternator and out of that 50 minutes in pretty much darkness as it got too late. I will also like to highlight that spacers gave me a bit of a challenge as I did it all in the driving bay (no vice etc.). I used small socket set extender and the equivalent size socket on top of the spacer to whack it back - and good old wd40 for a good measure as I replaced with the refurbished alternator. Again - many thanks for the steps Talisman.
  2. It's just ... battery light comes on on low revs and I ca hear relay clicking sound. It happens most often when the car is on neutral or if you trying to accelerate after gear change. I have to mention, that I swapped 3x ignition coils and it started to happen after that. Well, any help is welcome, cause i just got egr valve cleaned and the light came back on, I am frustrated cause one thing keeps triggering others. Regards, WB
  3. Hi, I have problem with the battery light on my gf-s fabia 1.2 petrol. The battery light comes on now and again and I can hear clicking or switching noise sounds like a releay or smthng. It happens mostly when I change gear and the car is on 2-3k revs. On very high revs it goes away. Also same thing happens, when car is on neutral and runs 900-1000 revs. Any advice? Regards, R.
  4. Started to clean my gf's egr on Fabia 1.2 HTP and the nuts were so badly rusted that one of the studs broke and had to take it engineering comp. to drill it out. It broke right at the adapter btw engine block and the egr. Got stainless steel long M8 bolt and trying to put all back together after i've fnishe cleaning. So im hearing that you have to reset values after you reassemble the egr??? I have VCDS Lite software for checking faults etc. and have the vagcom cable ... Is it wise thing to do it myself or is it better to take her to garage for that matter. They charge 50 eur for even switching off the engine light. Robbin' f=====. thats in advanced pitstop. Any suggestions???
