  1. Has anyone posted a pic of the canton sub in the boot of a combi on this forum?
  2. Has anyone considered one of these as an alterntive to the new VRS estate? I am thinking about arranging a test drive to weigh it up against the VRS (which I loved), but haven't brought myself to order yet. Seems to tick a lot of boxes for me i.e. big boot, good performance/economy balance, good basic spec levels etc..
  3. The offer they have made seems genuine, however I wanted to take a few days to mull it over and check there was no further interest on the private market. The cars you've seen on auto trader are both good examples. The first is on a '59' plate so I would guess that the warranty has either expired or is about to expire. The second on a '60' plate looks the more competitively priced to me. Neither car however has rear parking sensors which I believe are an important extra on this car due to it's large back end and is a £300 option at new. All depends on what you have driven before though, and how much value you place on it. As things stand, i'd be looking to do a deal for £12k but would not drop below that mark at this point in time.
  4. Thanks for the interest mate. Looking at Auto Trader, it seems that most cars with similar age and mileage to mine are up for £13k, albeit with main dealers. Obviously there is room for negotiation in my price, however over the weekend I have been offered an £11.4k cash payment by a local dealer, which has tempted me just for the ease of the transaction. Therefore, I have to weigh up how low I can realistically go privately to make it worth my while vs giving it to the dealer to make a handsome profit....
  5. The time has come to sell my 2010 (10 plate) Octavia VRS diesel hatchback 2010 facelift model. I am the only registered keeper from new and I am a non-smoker. The condition of the car is excellent both inside and out, with no curbing to the alloy wheels and was treated to Autoglym lifeshine on purchase from a local Skoda dealer, with Autoglym products used throughout it's life. The details are as follows: Registration: 30/06/10 Colour: Race Blue Mileage: 22,000 (used daily so this will slowly increase) Tax: June 2013 Manufactuers warranty: June 2013 Transmission: Manual Optional extras: Rear parking sensors and boot mat Complete main dealer service history with the car last being serviced on 18,843 miles at 01/06/12 This is a great example of the Octavia VRS diesel and includes all the feature you would expect including: 18" unmarked alloy wheels Radio/6 cd autochanger Aux in connection Cruise control Electic and heated door mirrors Tyre pressure monitor Isofix anchorage points Dual climate control Car has no outstanding finance, and have the documents to prove this. I am looking for £12,995 ono. Thanks for looking!
  6. I also had 452's on my old Focus ST and found that they wore much better than the Conti's that were on previously.
  7. Picked up my brand new Ocatvia Vrs a couple of weeks ago and had a bit of trouble activating the cruise control. After re-reading the manual I concluded that the cruise control was either faulty or I was using it completely wrong. Took the car into the dealer today for a check over, and it seems that the cruise control switch is indeed faulty and a part has been put on "back order" whatever that means?! Bit disappointed that a brand new car would have this sort of defect, and just wondered if anyone else had experienced problems?
  8. Looks excellent! Would also like to know where you got the alloy plate from. Had my Octy VRS just over a week and not too fussed on the plastic foot rest.
  9. Update on my order: Despite ringing the dealer and Skoda UK on Monday of this week I was not able to get an indication of when I would get my new VRS. However had the call this morning that I would be able to collect it on 29/06/10. So that will be 9 weeks from order to delivery which I am pretty chuffed with, and makes up for the frustration of being kept in the dark.
  10. Thanks for the input. Sounds like 10 weeks is about right for order to delivery. Hopefully mine will follow that!
  11. Just wondered if anyone here who ordered a new VRS around the end of April beginning of May has been given a build date yet? My dealer is being rather vague as to when i'm likely to get my VRS!
