  1. I did a single mass flywheel conversion on my MK1 octavia vrs and it was just a matter of getting flywheel from an older model (mk3 golf gti) and a VR6 clutch kit to marry upto the gearbox splines, The fabia is 6 speed so is slightly differant i believe but if you get the kit it is just as simple as remove and refit, Just be warned been diesel the duel mass is there to reduce vibration from the engine and removing it will increase vibration, to what extent am not sure as never driven a diesel thats had conversion
  2. Same as usual, target the easy thing a camera can catch and make money from, be to busy watching your speedo rather than the road
  3. It was on bike when i got it and it appears to work ok and i have breakdown cover so i just left it on it, Its not declared on insurance so could remove it, but ill check manual first see if i can find a service mode, Its not usually a problem as i have said chager at home but bikes at my parents at moment away from any plug sockets
  4. I have a couple of the cheaper oxford 600 chargers and there always seems to be at least one of them in use, My bike has a datatool alarm on my bike so carn't disconnect battery as it raises the roof if i do so have to keep a charger on it, I also made a lead up to keep my xc90 battery topped up when am not using it, I have a plugin digital current reader and plugged charger into it once just to see what it used and it was less than boiling a kettle
  5. Alldens exhaust in Market Rasen in Lincolnshire, He had a triumph thruxton in last time i went and had made some replica cans for it but slightly smaller that made more noise
  6. 7k on your first bike, that is a hell of alot of money to throw down road if you come off it, I paid 3200 for my fist bike and had my licence 15 months and ended up sliding down road avoiding somebody else,
  7. I had the email from the firm i bought my filter off but carn't read numbers on filter but its due an oil change anyway so am going to swop it out
  8. The problem is the governments have spent 15 years telling everybody diesel are best thing since sliced bread without looking at all the facts and figures, There now trying to do the same with hybrids and electric without looking at the wider enviromental impact again and usuing dieselgate to do it,
  9. Yeah mostly sorted just waiting for my custom twin exhaust splitter pipe to finished been made then i can bin the standard can, Only really been riding local since and it was nice to get out on my own and relearn the bike again and build my confidence back up in it, Not quiet sure where i went but squires to cawood to escrick and through back way to elvington to melbourne and then cut through to market weighton and onto seeways via wetwang, I went from seaways backway to scarborough and ended up coming down staxton hill and did about 5 miles on A64 into scarborough I usually tend to try and avoid A64 but by time i got to malton it was starting to get dark and my bum was starting to ache so it was A64 from malton to designer outlet at york and onto A19 and home
  10. So basically euro 4, 5 and 6 are one big con, Didn't see that coming much
  11. I went out and blew cobwebs off my hornet on sunday, 200 mile ride out to scarborough via seaways cafe and then coast road to whitby and back over moors to pickering,
  12. Well after 5 phone calls today 3 of which I couldn't hear a word women was saying there coming out again Wednesday morning, So am going to try and get a couple of hours off work so I can talk to them
  13. If id of known I could have left a note on front door for them but they didn't give me a day when it was arranged for them to come but they did have my mobile number, Have requested another call back, lets try again
  14. Slight update, 2 vans arrived on Friday with 1 high vis bloke in each van while me and swmbo were at work They walked past the hole i've dug on drive and knocked on door, stood and had a conversion on drive next to said hole for 5 minutes, had a walk up and down drive, then stood and had another conversion next to one of vans as next doors son was pottering about in front garden and then left, What a complete and utter waste of time, obviously nothing I had said on phone got relayed to them,
  15. If its anything like Volvo then the same vin on multiple cars would be picked up with recalls and service history entries onto central servers, Along with any software updates as they might have same vins but modules within the vehicles would all have different serial numbers even if they used the same software, The first half of a vin also tells you manufacturer, model year, what model it is and engine and gearbox types
  16. I ordered a Y splitter exhaust for mine yesterday so I can put a can at either side, Just need to decide what cans to buy now
  17. How do you find the delkevic can, I'm considering one for my 600 hornet, but carn't seem to find any youtube vids of it connected to a 4 pot honda
  18. Emailed Yorkshire water last night and they rang me today and explained situation and there sending an investigation team out to have a look as apparently they are now first responders and then they pass it on to whoever's problem it is or fix it if its theirs. I'm quiet happy to dig it out until I can get to it and cap it off if it just ends but waters obviously coming from somewhere and all ill end up doing is moving the issue further up drain
  19. I followed your heart breaking thread 18 months ago and all I have to say is good on you, Glad to see your moving on, We were talking at work other week and I felt odd having met my g/f the old traditional way and two other had done it through internet dating
  20. Bit of an odd one really, We live on a hill about 3/4 of way down and the house next door up the hill and the ones opposite us are I believe about 40 years older than our property, There is a retaining wall between us and next door (up hill again) which we have rebuilt the front 20ft of a few years ago as it was ready to collapse and built a flower bed about 3 foot out onto our driveway to help support said wall, Anyway for about last 8 months ish when its rained heavy water has started to bubble out of ground right in corner about a foot from said flower bed and same from pavement edge so right in front corner of driveway, basically under where green bin is in pic I just ignored it at first as drives only some old flag stones with dirt between them but its now getting to point where its washing dirt across driveway and flooding drive when it rains, Now Northern Powergrid had pavement up last week to replace some cables that ran up next doors driveway to substation and I noticed a drain that came at an angle under road and pavement and seem to head towards the corner in question, now we have redone all drains round our property and this one is isn't connected to anything and I had never seen it before until last week. Our drains start level with front of house in middle of drive and run down side of house to a man hole and then down back of our house and continues down the hill so were first in the line, I have dug corner of drive up and found this drain that runs from under road and it seems to terminate directly under where water is coming from and ground round it is very soft, My question is who is responsible for it as it not technically our drain
  21. It already is nagging me, think it will be getting replaced, My bike pre accident
  22. My VRS is rally red and clear coats abit of a mess now with it been parked up for a while, Bonnets peeled near the NS headlight and trying to match 16 year old rally red is near on impossible
  23. New gloves bought today, Also brake levers arrived so fitted them tonight as well, Just waiting on coolant hoses, black silicone replacements and gear selector rod that I noticed was cracked, Then decide if I'm getting myself a new helmet or not
  24. It makes me wonder what is running through peoples minds that don't put any proper kit on at all, Parts to repair bike are on order so should be back on road by next weekend all been well once I've given it a good check over
  25. Well I suppose it had to happen at some point but had my first slid down tarmac last night, Lucky it was only at about 30 - 35mph and I did have all my gear on but it still wasn't pleasant, Was slowing down at the time and was already off the power as I could see the van in front of the fiesta in front of me had stopped but Mr fiesta hadn't then instead of changing lanes decided to park in middle of them and slam on, I braked behind him as I didn't want to pass him in case he set off again and next second I was laid on floor watching bike slide down road, it happened in an industrial estate area so am wondering if I run over a patch of diesel or something as I wasn't braking that hard as I'd seen what was going off in front. I'm quiet fortunate as i fitted a set of crash bungs to sides of it and they seem to have just about saved it from any major damage and I walked away with just bruises although my 8 month old RST jacket is now bin material.
