  1. Thanks for the reply. Once it's warm the gearbox works fine, changes smoothly etc. Apparently it has had "a sensor" changed but which one I have no idea. I've read up that there was a software update for these boxes but whether it's had it I don't know. Will know more tomorrow. Just wondered if anyone else on here has had the same problem. Thanks
  2. Good evening folks. I have the chance of a 61 plate Octavia 2.0tdi dsg estate ex taxi. The car is tidy enough and has around 170 k on the clock. The only fault is it will only actually take up the drive ( ie move under its own steam) when the engine has warmed up - usually between 10-15 minutes. You can stick it in drive and give it some throttle and it just stays motionless. I don't think it has had its gearbox oil changed, certainly not by the last owner. I was wondering if anyone could advise as to what the problem could be. Any help greatly appreciated. Thanks
  3. Thought it had disappeared. Sounds like a good well cared for car.
  4. 4x4 turbo every day of the week. Nearly as fast as the vrs but with the added bonus of 4wd traction. The grip is superb with these things, had 2 very good examples of them. Is the 4x4 a silver estate one on ebay with a Dr owner?
  5. 4 days including a Sunday so not bad. Was parcelfarce global 24 at this end.
  6. Spoiler is now fitted. I was a bit dubious about the adhesive strips before fitting but the spoiler seems pretty solid now its on the car
  7. I've got one for sale, brand new still in packaging, with fitting clips. Bought it WITHOUT checking to see if car had one fitted!!. 5JA863831.
  8. Right folks, spoiler arrived today in a very well packaged box. Superb finish to paint, all correct skoda part numbers and stamps on. I haven't had a trial fitting yet because we're in the middle of a thunderstorm, 2 self adhesive strips underneath to attach to the car. In all, in my opinion, it is the real deal a good one to be had. I'll post some photos when I fit it.
  9. I'll let you know when mine arrives, I ordered a candy white one the other day. Paid 110 notes for it, 95 + 15 p&p from Czech republic
  10. You can't order yellow as a special order, I know because I tried last year. Sprint yellow deleted the first few months of 2016.
  11. Many thanks, that's the answer I was hoping to get. Now off to order the correct switch.
  12. What's this bit for ( pictured). Is it for the auto lights - which my car doesn't have. Thanks
  13. Any members in the Sunderland / Tyneside area with VCDS equipment which can remove the motion locking feature on my 12 plate Octavia estate. Many thanks.
  14. I'm currently using a 10 plate manual which has done an extremely hard 280,000 miles and has exactly the same symptoms, rough judder through car when at idle when warm. I did have an audi a few years ago with the same problems which went away when the clutch and flywheel was changed. However I've been told that it could also be an injection. Ironically, if you just about kill this particular car it runs along better and the shudder/judder at idle goes away.
  15. Doesn't sound normal, both my dsg boxes on the cars don't make any untoward noises.
  16. My 66 vrs 4x4 makes no more transmission noise than my 65 vrs petrol with dsg, or even my mk1 octavia 4x4 turbo and I've driven and had many 4x4 versioned cars over the years. So I wouldn't worry too much about your car when it arrives with regards to transmission noise as I've never noticed anything untoward on mine.
  17. Does the scout have the same drive train as the vrs?. If so, could it not be a case of potentially the same problems. Vrs will be under warranty so just give it back to the dealer every time the diff or whatever defective part starts playing it's tune.
  18. Turbotaxi, Tyneside, 66 plate red hatch.
  19. Genuine skoda mud flaps do fit and up to now have caused no issues on mine.
  20. No whine on my vrs 4x4 - 3000 miles. Other people on here have reported noise issues on 4x4s but don't think any definite answer has been forthcoming.
  21. Whilst I agree that the vrs is in the same class as the gti with roughly the same power, the golf r, which I was comparing to, is not in my opinion. Audi has its s3, vw has the golf r, seat has some fast leon thing ( not uo on my seat cars I'm afraid) and skoda has nothing to compare to those 3 cars. That is what I'm looking for from the next octavia model - something in that league not the gti league. I don't want an s3 but I do want that power train in some form in a vrs. Why can't skoda do that??. It would sell in bucket loads. I recently bought a vrs 4x4 diesel which had been available in other parts of Europe for ages yet not here in the UK. Again I could of bought an a3 or a4 with the same power train but I don't like them. That Is why I say skoda is the poor relation. I am a skoda customer paying good money for their products so why can't the playing field be level. Rant over , my apologies
