  1. I'm sure you have to have the system SD card inserted into black box to upload any updates.
  2. Sold our Monte a while back, but IIRC you have to leave the SD card in.

  4. We said goodbye to our Fabia Monte Carlo a week ago. Replaced it with a fully specced up Seat Leon 2.0 tdi (184bhp) FR, & very happy with it indeed.
  5. Update. Back in the Summer our windscreen mysteriously developed a 10cm crack from the bottom edge on the passenger side, which quickly grew to about 45cm long. Had a new screen fitted 3 days later, & the misting up problem has completely stopped. Guessing that there was a fault with the screen or it's fitting from new?
  6. Ah, so you'll have to code it in then. Ours (not KESSY) came from the factory with it so I presumed all Monte's would be the same, obviously not in the 2017 version.
  7. Doesn't need coding, it's activated in the car settings/set up under opening & closing.

  10. As I said it was a couple of months ago that I updated ours, & can't remember exactly what I did, but from what I remember. A message came up on the screen saying to update the maps, pretty sure it gave a website address, which was actually a Garmin site IIRC. Just downloaded the update on to a SD card & stuck it in the Kenwood SD slot, it did the rest. TMC works very well for us.

  12. 120k it's barely run in. Should be good for at least double that mileage if you look after it. My A4 is on 238k & counting, serviced every 9k, & running better than ever!!!!
  13. Got mine from Superskoda £25ish for all 4. 15 minutes to fit them myself.
  14. I presume the Panoramic roof is bonded into position, & I'm wondering if it isn't sealed correctly. Anyway just booked it into the dealer for investigation of the problem & it's first service so we'll see. Wife has booked a test drive on an Audi A1 1.4T FSI S Line this weekend which I'm looking forward to.
  15. We have the Standard AC not Climate Control. Never experienced a problem like this in any of our previous VAG cars owned both AC & CC equipped cars
  16. Tried Silicone bags, cleaned all inside windows several times, AC on full hot full demist, never use recirc setting in Winter. Pretty much tried every setting possible. No signs of water ingress ingress, & all the carpets are dry. There are reports of other Fabia III owners complaining about poor ventilation & demisting so it's not just us. To be honest I'd probably struggle on with it, but the missus has had enough. She had a very serious Motorway accident a few years ago, & needs to feel safe & confident, which at the moment just isn't the case in the Fabia.
  17. This continues to be a serious problem. My Wife & our 10yr old were travelling back from Birmingham on the M5 last night with a completely clear screen & windows when the low outside temperature warning goes off, within a minute or so all the windows mist up to a point where she's trying to see out of letterbox size section of clear screen!! Trying desperately to clear the screen with the heater blower (tried hot & cold AC on & off) & opening front windows all to no avail she had to pull up onto the hard shoulder for several minutes to clear it. Dangerous place at the best of times never mind on a dark wet night! Scared the **** out of her so today she has decided the Fabia has to go. We'll stay with VAG as always, but sadly it looks like the end of the road with the Fabia!
  18. Just chatting with wife about this, & we definitely won't be getting another Fabia. The condensation steaming up issue is positively dangerous, & that alone means we will be changing cars in September. No one touch windows is bit of a joke on a modern car too, especially bad when the window motor is so slow. The new Seat Ibiza FR due out in the summer is looking tempting.
  19. Ours could be a bit sticky at first, but after about 700 miles it freed up nicely as did the engine, which definitely perked up too.
  20. Having had many years of experience with VAG cars, I strongly advise you get a genuine VAG MAF. There are countless stories on VAG forums of owners trying to go the cheap route & getting their fingers burnt (including me with a GFS MAF), MAF & Coolant Temp Sensors seem to be the most common for issues. Be warned it's a lottery when buying aftermarket sensors. Sometimes works out ok, but more often than not it doesn't! VAG dealers offer an exchange service which helps keep the price down a bit, last one I bought from TPS (Trade Part Specialists) came out at about £80, however that was about 4 years ago. BTW. You'll be ok running without the MAF plugged in as the ECU reverts to default values, but for optimum performance you need to fit a new one.
  21. If it runs better without the MAF unplugged the MAF is faulty. Really easy to replace, but make sure you get a genuine VAG MAF as a replacement. Golden rule with VAG engine sensors. Buy cheap, buy twice.
  22. Usually caused by dry solder joints on the instrument cluster voltage regulators. IIRC removing fuse 5 (might be fuse 15) will bring the instruments back to life, but your trip will reset every time the ignition is cycled.

  24. Never seen a N75 like that on any VAG 1.8T that I've owned.
