Ben and Shark STS! Brilliant service.... stunning performance.....plus added advantage of standard, performance and immobiliser maps which can be used without leaving the drive....
-
They are marked Eibach and in Eibach Box, no Skoda markings except on box identification panel..They wern't supplied by dealer, they came from supplier
-
Yip, the Fun Prevention Officer got me them for Chrimbo...A local garage would fit for £120, but is worried about the diagnostic system.
-
A bit gutted after the dealer telling me it would be £300 and 1 day in garage to fit my Eibachs. Is there any VAGCOM diagnostic issues to worry about if I get a non Skoda guy to do the job....
-
Ben helped STS mine last Friday, it is absolutely stunning and outstanding, scarry times ;-)

You know your obsessed when..

Or washing your pride and joy twice a day on the worst days....I'm recovering, only once a day now... -
Sorry fella the vRS Petrol DSG is wet clutch 6 speed, the 1.8 Tsi DSG is dry clutch 7 speed....
-
All done by email and phone. Ben gave great service, not sure re TDi although sure it is available, but the real bonus for me was the Self Tuning System, basically you download existing map, email to Ben who then modifies it and emails back within a day (4hrs for me!) you then upload overwriting the existing map. The additional benefit is that the STS system provides you with the original map, performance map and an immobiliser map, all of which can be used throughout the life of the car...all for under £480.....
-
Shark remap was Christmas discounted and with inclusion of STS module total was under £480 delivered.....Best bang for buck I can think of... Discussed the DSG and all good, basically the DSG can handle the torque from the diesel vRS, therefore the increase load from petrol remap is still within the parameters..

Fella, its a gloss black wrap, carried out ba a specialist in Cumbernauld, did it after work one evening in 45mins, really good job which can be polished similarly to paint and looks just like a paint finish, the bonus is you can easily remove if required. Sorry no pics yet will do when weather improves....but totally recommend roof and remap for that matter....
-
Just a wee comment regarding Shark Performance. Called Ben on Wednesday to investigate the remapping of my Petrol vRS, did the deal and had the STS system in my hands by Thursday evening Within 5hrs on Friday had the full performance remap installed and was test driving before the Hogmanay celebrations..... What a way to start 2011, the performance is trully astonishing and will require serious right foot control..I have not stopped smiling since and cannot thank Ben enough for outstanding service and turn around during the holiday period..

Fella, I have a DSG petrol saloon, 6 weeks old, in Motherwell most weekends, pm me if you want to have a wee look...

2010 vRS FL petrol remap
Rob Hardie replied to Rob Hardie's topic in Skoda Octavia Mk II (2004 - 2013)
Cheers Rob, will contact them.... -
I'm sure this may well have been addressed previously but nevertheless, four questions: 1: At what stage mileage wise is the optimum for a remap? 2: Does my 2010 FL petrol have anti remap software as suggested in other posts? 3: If so does this present me with additional challenges during the remap? 4: Based in Glasgow area, should I travel for a Shark/ Revo/ Jabba or try the local suppliers? Sorry if this has been done to death....

To what degree will I need to sand it? Will I require to remove all Chrome entirely?
