black background with a red autobot on (im really into transormers.. right back to when i was little i used to watch the cartoons) also first up is the pd160 intake with green filter then egr valve delete pipe from allard then buying the milltek large bore d/pipe and exhaust from awesome then a remap.. how much power should i be expecting from this ? would i need to uprate the clutch using these mods with a remap? i will do it eventually when i get a FMIC and pd150 turbo ! but its just to see me a better power increase asap really ? help would be appreciated

its an 06 plate and its red.. after sorting out the engine i shall be evicting the small families from my wheel arches with a set of coilovers with satin black grille and wheels topped off with some pasty special badges all round

you make it sound like i haven't modified cars before ? im perfectly aware of the comprimises that comes with modifying ! (i do own a m3 slaying peugeot 205 after all) also with the cost of insurance; and as for buying a faster car in the first place: im sorry but that just doesnt "do it" for me, as far as i see it there is no fun in that what so ever

id appreciate that ! more to the point though. was it any good ? did "turning it up" make much difference? is it safe for the car? and will it work alter the ecu to suit other mods etc ?

as said in the first post i havent got pictures as yet but i shall get some tomorrow.. i was to busy driving it today :p posted another topic about a certain tuning box in question !.. any help that could be given to me in that area in the mean time would be fantastic as ive used the search but had no luck ! :(

thats the plan ! the vw dealer i bought it from have gave me a three month warranty ! so i shall see that out first before i chuck money at it ive got around 3.5k set aside for modification so that should happily pay for a hybrid turbo give or take a little

i had my heart set on a remap for my fabia ! but have been doing a little research and came across the chip express tuning box.. it offers a half decent torque and bhp increase but it mentions something about self altering the box to accomodate (sp?) further modification..(which i will be doing) has anybody ever done this ? ive tried using the search but had no joy what so ever :( regards austin

34k miles ! 6.5k it cost me... very clean.. its like new.. 4 new tires.. full service history and spotless inside to boot no where near as fast as my 205. but its a lovely daily driver.. chuck a few grands worth of mods at it and ill be happy ! ill keep you posted with pictures etc as soon as i get some, and when i start the rocky road to modification!

for a vrs id recommend a remap ! although you do see good gains from the common rail astra sri's using a box . but for the pd130 a remap is definately your safest bet. the simple way to look at it is you get what you pay for

oh believe you me i know how vw dealers work ! (used to work at one) i could change myself but really cba with the hassle after shedding out almost 7 k for a car !

i shall ring him up tomorrow and ask if its possible to have one fitted but still pick it up for tuesday ! (it only needs a valet and the front wheels swapping to back) in need of the car now as my 205 needs to go back into storage for omex600 and supercharger which will take me a while and cost me the best part of 5k :( yes its a vw main dealer located in leicester !

i managed to find myself a lovely red vrs ! 06 with only 30k on the clock !! the car was like new ! and decided to go ahead with the deal ! i pick it up on tuesday ! as being as it is 4 years old i asked the question if it had a new cambelt fitted ! he told me its 6 years or 80,000 miles on the pd130 vrs lump been very sceptical about this i have used the good ol' search function on here ! information on here seems to say its 4 years or 60,000 miles which is what i was positive it was ! (been an ex vw commercial vehicle technician ) dilemma now ! should i ring them up and tell them to whack a cambelt on it for me for no extra cost !? worried that its going to prolong me getting my lovely little mile cruncher ! this will be inconvenient as ive booked the morning off to go and fetch it from the dealer ? your thoughts please! regards austin

can you put it in gear with the engine turned off ??? if so do that foot on the clutch and attempt to start if it jolts forward with your foot on the peddle, your clutch is fubar ! as for loss of power and cutting out that could be a numerous amount of problems ! unfortunately im not clued enough about the fabias to know the common faults !

ive painted my 205 wheels myself ! and wheels on the few williams clios that i owned !!! i didnt even take the tyre off ! just remove the wheel from the car and mask it very neat and tidily around the tyre ! as said before paint as you would paint your front grille for example ! just dont go mad with the paint to avoid drips ! do it in a dust free environment ! and dont drive straight away to allow paint to harden ! the wheels will not be as robust as powdercoating them ! but you could do them yourself 2/3 times for the price of one powder coating ! heres an example of some wheels i did myself without removing the tyre ! regards

+1 for silicone grease ! but vaseline is also a good electical insulator !! we use it on electric trains (i fix them as a job, i am in no way or form a train spotter) insulate battery terminals etc etc looks a bit weird when someone opens your toolbox and see's a tub of vaseline in the top draw though ! regards
