This has definitely not been done, where is this relay situated?

Every time I fix something in my Octavia 2001 1.9TDI something else happens. The car was originally not boosting properly and at around 70MPH I would get a plateau of power stopping at around 3500RPM. Since then I have had the two pipes leading from the intercooler changed as they had had a hole drilled through them. I have now had the N75 changed and the MAF sensor and it is running worse than ever. It now has no boost at all and also rattles and clanks like an old traction engine and you can hear it coming from miles away. There are fault codes that wont clear either which are listed below. 19561-P3105 - Intake Manifold Solenoid 17957-P1459 - Wastegate Revalve 17849-P1441 - 17552-P1144 - MAF 17660-P1252 - Timing solenoid Two of these will clear down only to reappear the rest will not clear at all. I have now paid over £400 chasing this issue and my money is running out fast so any help is hugely appreciated. I have just been told that there is either a fault on the ECU or a vacuum issue which they cant seem to find. Any help is desperately needed or there will be an Octavia with all these shiny new parts up for spares or repair!! Thanks, Drew.

Hi everyone, Is there any way to reboot, flash or reset a brain unit to factory default? I recently bought a Skoda Octavia with the ALH engine and have been chasing my tail on trying to get the thing working. I have just been told that the brain unit might be malfunctioning so I wondered rather than replace it if It could be rebooted in some way? Thanks, Drew.

Ok the pipes are now fixed as is a sticking valve but I am now getting grounding earth errors (will post the codes shortly!) the garage say everytime they fix something another problem arises and that they think the engine has been tinkered with and screwed up!! The engine management light has been removed from the dash prior to the car being sold to me!!!

Hi All, Just had the pipe that runs from the intercooler towards the turbo, (a hard black ridged thing) replaced and the pressure keeps blowing it off the car. It seems that the last owner had drilled a hole through this and the connecting pipe and self-tappered it together. I now am waiting for the next hose to arrive in-case the hole is causing the seal between the two pipes to not fit correctly. However I am suspecting that there is too much pressure in the system which is causing this hence why the two pipes were screwed together in the first place in order to sell it! Does anyone have any advice as to too much boost pressure? Thanks, Drew.

I have found the problem the noise was getting worse and worse then I realised thanks to you that the undertray was hanging off!!! Had a lot of cable ties in it that were now broken, have since cable-tied it back up - sound gone. Thanks for the help!!

Hi Everyone, have had a leak test done and found a large hole in the hard pipe that runs from the intercooler! I am having a new one of these fitted tomorrow so hopefully this will fix the issue! I will keep you posted! Thanks, Drew.

Hi Have you found out what this is as I am getting a very similar sound on my 2001 manual? at first I thought a wheel was hitting the inside of an arch or something but it isnt always when the car s going over a bump. Thanks, Drew.

I have disconnected the MAF and haven't really noticed a great deal of difference in the performance, would the difference be dramatic even with the other issue as well? I think this might be the problem as the plug that fits onto the MAF has the clip broken so perhaps it has been taken on and off a lot? I have found an Bosch MAF for my engine on Ebay for £53 so hopefully that is what is wrong as it looks pretty easy to replace. Thanks for all your help guys I will keep you posted as to how I get on. BTW I have just started a new topic as I have noticed another troubling problem, its a topic called "more problems with Octavia TDI" Any advice welcomed again. I really want to love this car but get the feeling I may have been had.

Hi Guys, I posted on here the other day about how my car was under-performing and got a lot of good advice I am having the diagnostics done on Monday. However I have now noticed a weird sound that I can only describe as a scraping noise that happens randomly when driving. At first I thought it happened when going over a bump but now it seems like it just random. Any ideas? I really want to love this car however I am getting the feeling I have been had by the previous seller! Thanks in advance, Drew.

Hi it has the ALH code, so can these just be cleaned out then? That is a major relief, I thought I would have to pay for a reconned turbo!

Hi Everyone, Just bought a 19. TDi 2001 estate and need some advice. I know that this car is only 90Bhp but even taking this into consideration it feels very slow. If I try to accelerate uphill it takes ages and on a flat piece of motorway I cant seem to get over 80Mph or 3000rpm. I have just sold an Impreza 2.0 sport so I expected this was going to feel slow, especially as it is the lowest rated engine in the range but surely this isnt quite right. It has about 800 miles till service according to the indicator could that be all that is needed, I am worried it could be a turbo issue. It has done 163,000 miles. Could somebody with the same car please compare their performance for me please? Thanks, Drew.
