Trying to buy a right hand side door mirror on e-bay for 2005 Octavia Estate 1.9Tdi but having difficulty with the part numbers quoted. Anyone know the part number I require please

I need to gain access to a leaking rear windscreen wiper fluid supply pipe and would appreciate any advice on how to remove the trim sections in the estate loading area and the inside cill sections. Can smell fluid when I activate the wiper pump but can't find exact location of leak.

I am getting a big thump when I start the engine - but not every time. Car runs OK.. Have recently had clutch and flywheel changed but I was having this problem before then. Typically when I took it to a garage they couldn't replicate the noise!!!! Happens maybe 1 in 10 starts. Garage checked all connections etc, exhaust ets but couldn't find any obvious source. Anyone got any ideas??

I've seen some old postings about hand held fault code readers and would like current advice on their suitability and performance etc. Presumably you get what you pay for. Do they do what "they say on the can"????

I want to try and clear the washer jet on my Octavia Estate but how do I remove it from the high level break light assembly?

Hi Guys -- the nearside rear reversing sensor has dropped inside the bumper! I have actually located it by removing the small access panel on the lower edge of the bumper. It seems to have come unstuck -- only one adhesive?? pad in place. Unfortunately the access hole is to small to enable me to put my hand inside and re-glue the sensor. If I'm right the only solution appears to be to remove the whole bumper assembly. If this is so could somebody please give me an idiots guide as to how to take off the bumper!! Thanks in advance!

Thanks Nick -- will give it a go. Concerned because my local garage here in France is telling me it's a four hour job as the whole of the front end has to be dismantled!!!!

My Octavia drivers manual page 284 indicates that removal of the headlights is easy in order to replace bulbs. I have unscrewed the plastic nut at the rear but cannot get the locking lever to move very much. Is there a knack to doing this? And how far does it pull out?

Having a similar problem with my 2005 Octavia. CC works some days and not other. Realise this has been dealt with before but as a newcomer to the forum I wondered how easy is it to actually open the switch to get at the contacts? Are the contacts accessible and what do you clean the contacts with?
