  1. satin blue Nice car, same color as mine!
  2. I have a Superb Elegance 170CR DSG which now has +20000 miles on the clock. I have gotten 50 mpg with more narrow 16" winter tyres, but regularly with summer tyres 17" I get the advertised figure of 46 mpg.* I couldn't be happier with the combination of the 170CR with the DSG! *Consumption figures from actual consumption, the computer is 10% off.
  3. The image shows the new 105 kW (140 bhp) CR 2.0 l diesel, not the 125 kW (170 bhp) CR 2.0 l diesel which is in the Superb. The new 140 bhp CR diesels are not yet availabe for the Superb, but available for the VW Golf. Do you have a similar drawing of the 170 bhp version? That would be interesting!
  4. @ core Where do you find the information on the "contra-balancing shafts"? I thought it was the new 140 BHP CR model that had them but not the new 110 BHP CR (In the new VW Golf)?
  5. The 50 mpg was brim to brim, based on commuting on the highway 80 miles per day @ 70 mph + some urban. I would have been even happier with the consumption if the MFD had been correct but 50 mpg is very fine with me!
  6. Actual MFD Display Average Speed Total Mileage Engine 50 55 - 6200 miles CR170 DSG First test without the webasto heater. MFD off by ca. 10%. Will ask at the dealers next week to recalibrate it.
  7. Where does it say that it kicks in at 25°C? The text at Skoda home page referring to the Superb II only say: "The sunroof with solar panels ensures ventilation of cool air even in a parked car." The text for the Superb I says: "When the engine is turned off, solar cells feed energy to the automatic air-conditioning ventilator. As a result, even after parking in the sun for a long period you will be surprised by the car’s pleasantly aerated interior. And in the winter, air circulation inside the car prevents frost from developing on the glass." Should one understand from this that there is a different design in the Superb II solar sunroof? That the earlier one operated also in winter time? I cannot find any settings in the MFD refererring to the sunroof at least. Does anybody know?
  8. The cover of the safety light in the front passenger door was slightly hit the other day and just fell off. I couldn't really get it to stick so I will have to go to the garage for this. Anyone experienced this? I suspect it might have been too loosely attached after they fixed a broken speaker in that door some time ago. I checked the other safety lights covers and they seem a bit fragile to me.
  9. If you only travel urban at an average of 14 mph you should get a bicycle... The Superb 170 DSG is advertised at 46 mpg average and 36 mpg urban. I think those figures are quite accurate. I commute on motarway 2 x 40 miles a day at (legal) 70 mph at least parts of the way. The MFD then gives 52-55 mpg. I also do urban travel since I have my old folks at the hospital, those trips gives around 35 mpg on the MFD. I do suspect my MFD give me too nice figures though, but I cannot check that properly until I stop using the Webasto heater. I am very happy with the power & mpg (in combination) the 170CR delivers!
  10. Actual MFD Display Average Speed Total Mileage Engine 43,4* 49.5** 35mph*** 2500 miles CR170 DSG * Last brim to brim incl. Webasto diesel heater consumption. ** I have and use the external Webasto diesel heater which explain at least some of the difference, proper comparison in a few months time when I won't need to heat the car... *** Average for the 2500 miles.
  11. If you do not have it on your computer you should get a card reader. You would find it in the same place as the card (i.e. photo shop, electronics shop...).
  12. The faster card made a huge difference. I was wrong to assume otherwise. The time to browse the folders is now reasonable, still some lagging but not as glacial as previous card. I went from 6 to 15 MB/s max speed.
  13. I will upgrade to a quicker card to see the benefit.
  14. Yes, I know but I suspect that since officially the Bolero only recognices up to 2Gb SD (not SDHC) cards, it might be the Bolero unit that is the culprit. But if someone has a SDHC card that resonds/works fast in their Bolero unit I would be very interested to learn which card and the amount of files on the card.
  15. I use a 8Gb SDHC-card, it works. BUT it takes ages to browse through all the music. I think I will use it for audio books and play the music from my iPhine over the AUX instead. I would be interested in others experience on the responsiveness in handling SD/SDHC cards.
