  1. its time to replace my mk1 vrs which is remapped to 232bhp. I love this car, still enjoy driving it every day. however the missus has decided to breed again (ok i did have something to do with it.) and we are finding the mk 1 a bit tight on leg room especially. i have checked out the mk 2 octy and it seems alot better on leg room.. (i am 6.2 and so is my son who is 15). With my sensible head i have test driven a 2.0 tdi dsg elegance estate, ticks all the boxes, however i have decided i need leather hence l&k. but should i have a petrol or diesel vrs more fun (but no leather) briskodians please disscuss.

  3. im currently using the stevenage dealer, cant remember there name they are very good, well if you judge them against fiat or bmw dealers. if you judge them by foward motors there passable. jon
  4. will nip down to halfords later and hav a butchers. thanx
  5. my clima smells a bit musty, only when first start up goes away after about 30 secs. Im thinking about getting a mobile air con servicer out. i had a variable service at 17000, should pollen filters have been changed?
  6. for best results use components. with separate tweeter and crossovers. Mind u probably not worth doing components if u are going to stick with standard hu.
  7. Got it back and its wonderful. Tracker fitted and ive moved house since it was stolen. all is well
  8. As most people will know my car was recently stolen. I'm getting a tracker fitted, those who haven't got a tracker i suggest you make a big sign saying you have. I am also considering going for a sdi. jon
  9. police have now examined the car and have some dna evidence(ciggarette butts), also some of my belonging that i did not want to have to replace. however the garage that is storing my car say the engine is noisey, i hoping coil packs, they were able to move it. jon
  10. just ring him up and say you want the car but want 6 months tax, 12 months warrenty then let him sweat. I managed to get
  11. thanks to everyone, who have been so supportive on this forum. Having your car nicked is really **** on top of the other things that life throws at you. jon
  12. if you wanna cheap car and dont need the boot the leon is ok jon
  13. thanks for all the advice chaps. the police still have the car, hopefully tomorrow they will release it. then its going to a dealer for any work that it needs. Jon
  14. the person who knew where it was is a well known naughty boy(not really on talking terms with the law), he swears it wasn't him who nicked it(it was a bloke who knows a bloke who knows someone etc). Dont worry im not going to protect him and if his prints are in the vehicle then he's knackered. when he told me where it was, he told me ive got to say i stumbled upon it, and not that anyone told me where it was, as he was scared of being found out as a grass by the gang. Apparently the gang have been using it to do more robberies and they really liked the car, no probs getting away from the law. hope that clears up a few points. i didn't notice the mileage on the car. its gonna be a fairly long process till i get the car back, new locks, tracker fitted, some cosmetic damage, mechanical tests etc. Is there a standard vehicle test for recovered vehicles? jon
  15. too right, will have to change locks and fit a tracker. jon
  16. i watched it being towed away so soco could look at it first. I am glad that its been found just hope it drives ok. jon
  17. to cut a long story short i've found my car. Got a call from someone who drinks in my local saying some bloke knows where my car is, and do i want it back. After a few more phone calls he tells me where it is. Newport pagnall down this close. So i went found the car, rang the police. Soco are having a look at it tomorrow. Not sure if this is good news or not there didnt appear to be any damage on the exterior. Will have to see how it drives when i get it back in a day or two. Jon
  18. my jabbachip was declared to liverpool victoria so i doubt if that will be a prob. Just wanna get out of this corsa into another octavia, better wait a week or two tho. jon
  19. this was the first thing that came to my mind as well cruise down the farm. However after lengthy disscussions with the police, they reckon this is a fairly organised gang. Basically stealing anything they can get decent money for. jon
