  1. My 53 Superb 130 Tdi has been to the dealer today due to a number of electrical issues, thay have reported a Canbus error and suspect a wiring problem. I know that on BMWs it's easy to trace the Canbus as it's a grey/yellow cable that runs around the car. Any Idea what colour it's likely to be on my Superb?
  2. OK, I took the car to the dealer today and they said it looked like the ECU was faulty. So my question, is it possible to have a secondhand ECU coded to my car. They also said there was a Canbus error which was why the Comfort Control Module was playing up. Not the module itself as it's new.
  3. [That's an interesting one, could be intermittent bulb I suppose but wouldn't explain why it cuts out when cold!
  4. My 2003 1.9tdi has a number of issues, often it will just stop for no apparent reason when it's cold. Sometimes when driving along the glow plug light starts flashing. Have I got a problem with duff glow plugs or is it trying to tell me something else?
  5. Many thanks, I'll give it a go. The car was standing for some time with water in it. I'll also have a go at diagnostics and let you know the outcome.
  6. My Superb 1 1.9Tdi has a load of electrical problems, the car has a bit of a chequered past and has been off the road for a few months. 1. Sometimes the engine doesn't start but locking/unlocking the car with remote usually sorts this. Sometimes the engine stops within a few minutes of stsrting, same deal with the remote locking usually brings it back. 2. Occasionally all the instruments drop to zero and then come back, also resets the trip mileage. 3. Sometimes glow plug light comes on while driving, then goes out. 4. Cruise control drops out for no apparent reason, sometimes the cruise just doesn't work all day! I have had the usual flooding issue, dried it out and replaced all the cables/plugs. Am I looking at a Comfort Control Module failure? I have a spare unit, same part number but guess it needs programming, any ideas how this is done?

  8. Hi, My Superb Tdi spent a while off the road and now I have a number of electrical problems, I'm hoping they are all or mostly connected! 1. Sometimes the engine doesn't start, have to lock and unlock the car, then it's usually OK but sometimes it stops again. 2. Cruise Control, keeps dropping out, sometimes it doesn't work at all 3. Instrument clusted, sometimes all the gauges drop to zero, it resets the trip mileage then come back all on its own 4. O/S/R doow sometimes doesn't lock/unlock from central locking I have had issues with the CCU under the passenge seat, usual flooding, dried it all out and replaced all the plugs. Does anyone know whether all the issues above would be related to this? Has to be the scrufffiest Superb ever, nearside accident damaged, odd coloured wing, keyed all down driver's side, paintstripper on the bonnet, 46MPG I love it!
  9. Many thanks, I managed to get a new genuine Superb door for the driver's side for £65 delivered on ebay, need to hunt down one for the passenger side. I got the front suspension all fixed, fitted a front wing, dried out the carpets, re-wired the Comfort Control Unit due to water damage (thankfully the unit was OK), got my MOT and been for a VIC check today. So the car is ready for the road and I'll tax it from 1st August. Then all I need to do is get the suspension alignment done, sort a new passenger door and respray almost the whole car. I had a '97 A6 a few years back, almost the same car, I can't fault the Superb, drives just as well and the spec if way better than the Audi I had.
  10. I have had my Superb for a couple of weeks, bought it as damaged salvage, the front suspension was bent, now all fixed and there is some light body damage. Both front doors are damaged, I could fix them but my local salvage dealer says he will do me Passat/A6 doors at £25 a piece, bargain! The doors look the same as my mk1 superb, but does anyone know if they are intercahngeable? Swapping over the windows and electrics isn't a problem.
