  1. Hello all, Just to update you with how this situation was resolved. After a number of phone calls back and forth between Skoda Customer Care and the dealer (Motorline Dartford) this issue was eventually solved. Motorline Dartford offered me the cost of the heated seats (£260) plus a £50 payment towards my costs (phone calls and emails) involved with me having to chase up this issue. To be fair it was not Motorline Dartford's fault. The fault squarely lies with Skoda having produced a catalogue that is incorrect. For your information I quoted from the 'Sales of Goods Act 1979 Para 13, sect 1' which clearly states that goods are to be supplied as described as the basis of my complaint. Hope no one else gets caught out by this. Oh, final point, both my wife and I agree that heated seats, if you have the leather option anyway, is probably a bit of waste of money.
  2. Gizmo68 Good point. I think we are settled now for not having heated seats but it is more the point that when you order a car that specifies it has something we expect to get it! I will be pushing for a refund and your suggestion looks like what we will suggest as fair compensation.
  3. Been on the phone to Skoda. Expecting a call back with a reply on 04 Oct. Will post the response here. Not feeling positive about getting it retrofitted as I have yet to read anywhere this is able to be done. Might just settle for a refund.
  4. How do I know which version of Bluetooth phone preparation I have in my car. I have a MY11 Octavia Scout and we have a factory fitted phone preparation. Once I know which type I have I can then find out which phones are compatible. Thanks
  5. Thanks everyone for the replies. CEPI - yes my climate control looks almost identical to the photo you posted. However, it is missing the inner bits to the dials. We did think that maybe they just put on the wrong buttons but we can't tell by looking under the seats. To everyone else - Yes I had a copy of the brochure in hand when I collected the car. I asked the salesman, "where's the heated seats?'. He replied, 'You don't have heated seats it is not on your order.' Whipping out the catalogue I showed him the following: Alcantara upholstery (inc. heated front seats) £1,221.28 £213.72 £1,435.00 He profusely apologised and got on to Skoda Customer Care. However, one day on and i still have not heard from them? Hoping they will get back to me soon but to be honest a refund means we are just left disappointed that one of the many features we were looking forward to will be absent! However.....the rest of the car is brilliant and awesome drive! It is hard to be too unhappy because the Scout is so good. Will keep this post updated once I have a resolution from Skoda. My top tip is to watch out for this if you are thinking of ordering leather seats and expecting heated seats included. Thanks all
  6. Hello all, Happily collected my Scout yesterday. First ever new car for my wife and I so we were very excited. However, all was not rosy... Whilst the rest of the car was perfect, we were extremely disappointed to find out that the heated seats, which we had read in the brochure was included in the Alcantara leather interior option, were missing. Has anyone else had this problem and what was done to rectify it? Does anyone know if heated seats can be retrofitted? Alternatively, what recompense have you been offered? Thanks
  7. Toonfan66, I am picking up a Scout MY11 today so if you have any questions with regard to the new model feel free to post more questions in this forum. FYI I ordered the Xenons but not the DRL (they were not an option when I ordered back in Feb). I too am intrigued to see if the car will come with un-activated DRL?
  8. Any more tips? Collecting our Scout on Monday! Thanks Mike
  9. Thanks for all the useful advice - will especially watch my fingers around the exhaust! Ramonford - thanks very much, that is exactly the specialist advice I was looking for. I will add it to my list of things to ask! Any other advice still very very welcome. Really enjoying the forums and learning loads of useful stuff! Thanks to everyone who has replied so far. Mike
  10. Thanks guys for the replies. I must say we have some concern over what the car will come with as we ordered the car in March when it was the 2010 spec and now have the 2011 spec being delivered. Somethings like rain sensing windscreen wipers (standard on 2010 model) we think are now an option on the 2011 model. We will be checking our order form and catalogue very carefully to see what we expected. Good to hear your dealer refunded you the difference if items are missing. Yes have ordered a full sized spare wheel as not convinced on the tyre repair kits. Any other advice most welcome. Cheers.
  11. Hello all, Firstly I am a new member of the forum and also soon (8 days away) from taking ownership of my first ever brand new car - a Skoda Octavia Scout. The full spec is here: [*]Black Magic paint [*]Leather interior [*]2.0 TDI CR [*]Xenons [*]Silver roof rails [*]Curtain airbags [*]front parking sensors [*]MDI [*]Electric Drivers memory seat [*]Multifunction steering wheel [*]We also got the cooling box and fitted dog guard I would like to make a request for any advice any members have for someone with a new Scout. Is there anything I should look out for on collection, common problems etc. I am fully expecting all to be correct on collection, so if you have any advice on stuff that is good to do on the car in its first few weeks then I would love to know. Any advice or steerage to useful pre-existing topics would be really useful. Also if anyone knows if you can get the LED daylight running lights retro-fitted that would really please the wife!
