Yes they did try that apparently but said they think the fault likes in the loom. Not to worry though as Skoda are to replace it under warranty...nice chaps!! All being well it will end happily!!

I have now had my Octy VRS Diesel for a month. On Thursday morning, I turned my stereo on and it came up with the words "SAFE" which I thought didn't sound good. Stayed on for about 20 seconds then turned itself off. Continued to do this for on average between 20 secs and 20 mins.... So thought stuff this, i'll take it to the local dealer seeing as the car is under warranty...So took it and they said after quite a while of looking that there seemed in their opinionto be a false connection but that it was working again...excellent me thinks....and off I trot....until the next day...yesterday... Turned on stereo....NOTHING at all, nada.....Now I did aske the guy at the dealer what would happen if it played up again. His response was for me to call them straight back and that it might need a new unit...fair enough...but then proceeded to tell me that often Skoda refuse to give a new unit under warranty as they are a bit funny with audio equipment.....WHHAAATTT!! So has any one else experienced anything here, as if I need to get ready for a battle, I'd like to know. I spend a hell of a lot of time in my car and one without a stereo is not an option. As I bought it with a warranty I would be seriously racked off if they tell me to whistle....hopefully that wont be the case but anyone with a similar experience and how it finished up would be most welcome to tell me the outcome. :S

Alas it is R.I.P. then.....I feel most sad, twas a grand motor was that. Did me proud and was a total minter when I got rid of it, even if it had a few miles on the clock....gone but not forgotten....sigh... Is Des's Red Devil still alive and well, keep meaning to give him a bell??

Nice detail. Something that works well when I detail on dull tailpipes is a very soft wire wool soked in water, agitate lightly, then followed by application of Megs metal polish with microfibre, off with clean microf and finished off with a wax of your choice (Colonite 476 does me) I've found a fair bit of success without undue marring and it definitely adds a good shine to even the dullest pipes. I suspect you will have tried this. I find Audi pipes often the worse and it even brings those up too!! Great job by the way....personally I find some Porsches's a nightmare. Just did a Cayenne and it was reading average of 80microns on my Paint Detective...........I was gobsmacked!!

Hello friends old and new, Funky J here (Known to my mates as Andre!!). Glad to be back after many years away from the fold.........I was reminding myself earlier about the early days..before Briskoda when Colin and Ian had an idea......as a few of us early RS fiends were still living on VWVortex...back in 2002..... We organised a meet soon after when Colin and Ian started Briskoda...a whole..wait for it...4 of us turned up...me, Manny O, John & Des........back then an RS was a seriously lesser spotted beast.....how things have changed. Scary and here we are in 2010. I am glad to say that I am back in the fold having just bought an 07 Race Blue VRS Diesel 170PD.......I was wondering what happened to my ole motors 1st one being a Silver VRS reg OU51DZB and my last (which was Des's originally) VRS Black Magic GK02ZYX...pretty easily distiguished by the genuine Octavia Kevlar rear wing (which went on Des's car)...... Since departing from Briskoda I have had a Cupra R 225 which was sadly lifted from me by several unpleasant gentlemen who broke into my house and took my keys along with the car...not pleasant and a Ford Mondeo ST 2.2 DIESEL and now back with an RS again!! Anyhow..hope all is well on here. Any old friends saying hi would be most welcome!!
