  1. AFAIK the 2.0 is a much newer design than the 1.9 and is actually more efficient.
  2. Hi all, I recently replaced the rear bump stops on my Combi and took a few pics as I went along. Procedure would be identical for replacing entire damper. Hope these help someone doing the same job. New and old. Chock front wheels and support rear of vehicle on axle stands. Wear glasses or goggles for this bit as its a pretty dirty job, I reckon job could be done with out removing wheelarch liner but I found it easier with it out of the way. This is held in with eight(8) screws dotted around the arch and four(4) holding on rear flap And two(2) underneath the small flap at front of rear arch Support bottom of suspension arm with a jack and remove the 21mm bolt from bottom and 2 X 16mm from top The whole damper and top bracket assembly can now be removed from car. Tip: run the 21mm and 16mm bolts back in to their respective holes a couple of turns, Can't lose em that way! Prise off black domed cap from top of assembly and undo 16mm nut (you'll need a 16mm offset ring spanner) you'll also need to grip the flat bit on top of damper rod to stop it turning, I used a vise grip, once you break the initial bite of the 16mm nut it'll spin off by hand. When you've this done, its simply a matter of sliding bracket and bump stop off. Simply reverse the procedure and torque everthing up to manufacturers specs. I accept no responsibility for injuries to persons or damage to property and I assume you are competent enough to tackle this job.
