  1. Hi guys, I have searched the forum for answers and cant find any reference to this so apologies if it is answered already in another thread. I have a soon to be 4 year old Superb III and the air con is functioning really well in that it does push out cold air when required. The issue I have is that it is now being accompanied by a foul smell best described as being a bit "sour". The sour smell also lingers for a while when the Air Con is turned off. Has anyone else had this issue and how can i resolve it ? I am sure it is not unique to Skoda. Thanks.
  2. Lads, wasn't the battery make or the type, it appears the key is just faulty. It is continually sending out an RF signal once a new battery is put in and that battery is dead within 48 hours. Does anyone know if that is something that can be fixed or am I looking at a new key from a dealership ?
  3. NTA16 Thanks for the reply. It was actually Panasonic batteries that have been playing up. Also tried Energiser as well as duracell. 4 batteries in last 2 weeks (2 x Panasonic ,1 × energiser and 1 x duracell). Just hoping someone sees this post who might have a bit of knowledge or experience of the same issue.
  4. I have a 2018 Sportline with a push button start. I have had issues for the last 2 weeks with my key fob. Got a message to replace the battery which I done. The battery I used had been in the car for a few months over the winter. Anyway, this battery was in place about a week and then the same message appeared to replace the key battery. Thought nothing much about it other than maybe the battery being in the car for months over the winter might have somehow degraded with the cold temperatures etc. This time I bought a new off the shelf battery (duracell 2032 3v) and replaced it on Wednesday. Today Sunday, I again got the replace the key battery. Does anyone know what the issue might be ? Just Unlucky with bad batteries ? Dodgy key fob ? Or something more sinister with the brain of the car ? Any tips of what I might be doing wrong would be appreciated.
  5. In the last couple of days I have started having an issue with the Columbus System and my phone (HTC Desire). The phone pairs ok and I can use it to dial numbers, receive calls etc but the issue is that when a call is answered the audio does not come through the speakers in the car but reverts back to the phone itself - what is very strange is that the radio remains muted until the call is ended. I have tried the usual phone reboot, re pairing the devices, setting the Phone Settings on the Columbus back to factory default - all with no joy. This just started happening all of a sudden and I have no idea why - any help or pointers would be appreciated. Note : I have had the HTC for a number of months and it operated fine with the audio coming through the car speakers as expected. Thanks
  6. I bought the car privately and not from a dealer, so my fault for not checking in enough detail at time of sale. :( It came with a complete full size spare wheel.
  7. I am currently looking to replace the front tyres on my 2.0TDi 140bhp Superb. At present is has Conti Sport 2 94v with about 26,000Km on the clock and very little thread left. The question - do I need to put 94v rating tyres on it again or would 91v do ? The tyre salesmen all say it makes little difference but not sure if they are just keen on a sale :S I am having difficulty finding a decent tyre locally with a 94v rating. I can get Michellin Energy 91v's for €95 a each Continetal Premium Contact 91v for €115 each Any advice from those who might be in the know would be appreciated... Thanks Doc
  8. Hi, I have recently bought a Superb 2.0 TDi 149bhp and am very happy with it. However, on checking the spare wheel assembly I am missing the wrench to remove the nuts when changing the wheels... Can anybody advise on where to pick one of these up or how much they might be ? I am not even within a 2 hr drive of a skoda dealership so wondering if there were any other options. Hope someone can point me in the right direction. Cheers Doc
