  1. I get this come up every few weeks. I press and hold the stereo power button to restart the system and the warning goes out afterwards everytime.
  2. Wow my car is set at 35k kms services, its getting serviced tomorrow at 38k kms since its last! Company car.
  3. Water pump cause issues, the vanes are variable and don't open fully at times and don't pump water properly as a result. Keep an eye on it, mine caused issues and the water pump was replaced.
  4. I check on the display when it says itll take over 10 litres and put in 10 litres at once, i done this everytime since new and always works grand.
  5. Hey, There is something amiss there for sure. Id be looking at the caravan brakes. I have the 150bhp manual and I have pulled a twin axle Hobby Caravan up a very steep slope without an issue. Also pull the boat in and out of the water on a steep incline slipway without an issue. My first check would be the caravan brakes as I have had that before.
  6. Get a spin in the Stinger, its well worth a drive. I was very sceptical at first but they drive far better than the Superb. They took a lot of engineers and designers from BMW and it certainly shines through on the handling. Interior plastics are better quality ( I personally think the Piano Black parts of the Superb Sportline are disgracefully bad quality). Try the Stinger, Im gonna go for one next. For a fun drivers car, RWD is your friend.
  7. My dealer told me that its always the towbar fitter across the road that fits theirs. The dealer quoted me 1200 euro when ordering the car, got a Thule detachable with all the electrics and coded to the car for 550euro from the towbar fitter and not a wire cut or spliced. I wouldnt get a dealer to fit it after my Fathers octavia had a dealer towbar fitted and caused so much hassle later on, wiring issues galore as they scothlocked into wires instead or using the correct relays and this in a brand new car.
  8. Just to let you know about this, a member on here had a bad crash in his Superb last week and all airbags triggered and all. The SOS system automatically rang the control centre and my mate could only mutter 'ambulance' and they called it and had the GPS location from the system (No sat nav fitted in car). I was well impressed . Also a very loud siren went off and a voice blaring 'Impact, Impact'. His car is written off and he only has bruising and swelling. Brilliant cars.
  9. The front part of the estate roof opens, go for it. It makes the car.
  10. Thank heavens you posted this, I have been thinking that I'm losing my mind since i got my Superb. Hearing that echo all the time, i just went out to check and this was set to maximum.
  11. I had this today with my 3 week old sportline superb. Dealer knew immediately what it was. There is a faulty batch of modules that go in behind where the SOS button is. The headliner needs to be removed and parts replaced. It will take 2 days apparently. The existing stock of spares are all also faulty so new parts have to be ordered directly from Skoda.
  12. Never had a car with such weak paint as my VRS,its Race Blue and stone chips so easily(and loads of gravel on irish roads)Just got a 08 BMW M3,and paint is like steel on it.A friend who is a painter even says the VAG paint is rubbish
  13. Is it the part up the top of the engine,to protect the wires from the sensors around the turbo?
  14. Hey, My dad is running a octavia 1.9tdi DSG,as a taxi,he has 260k miles on it now and has absolutely no problems with the DSG,just oil changes. His dual mass flywheel went last year after 170k and the dealer changed the clutch pack at the same time to save the chance of it needing it later, but it was in good condition as it was.Turbo went last week, but as he says after 260k he cant complain, its never used a shock or a cv boot even. His DSG made me get my one, they are brilliant. We use his one to tow motocross bikes ona trailer and a boat and caravan and it makes life a lot easier,He had knee problems before from clutches and now loves the car. From our experience with the DSG,go for it bud,you certainly wont regret it,we havent.
  15. I had my 2009 VRS TDI CR,show up the CEL light and show the GLOW PLUG light which made the car go into limp mode.I went straight to the dealer who said it was the exhaust pressure sensor in the DPF,he changed it out, parts and labour came to 140 euros. The light came on,and i went straight to the dealer, which is 22 miles away and at that stage the DPF was 43% blocked, dealer said it has to be replaced at over 45%,at a cost of 1600 euros, any more problems and it will be a DPF delete at 600 euros for sure.
  16. Check the DPF exhaust sensor, mine went last week and same thing happened
  17. Dont worry about the DSG reliability,my dad has a octavia TDI DSG as a taxi, just checked there and it has 237k miles on it,and not a bother, plus the car pulls 2 boats,a caravan and trailer with motorbikes, best gearbox we've ever had,im going with one on my new VRS.
