I have just taken delivery of a Pre reg 1.5 SE L , my query concerns the manual folder , on all my previous Skodas its been full of sub booklets concerning servicing , breakdown , warranty etc etc , this one has the manual only . Have any of you who have purchased a new car been given anything different . I do know that servicing is now online so i was not expesting a service manual .

Here is some feedback , car went into garage and they did have to make a hole in the trim to access the fastenings , there is no manual release system fitted . Top and bottom mechanisms were removed placed in a vice and levered apart , the problem was due to the connection between motor and lock mechanism being broken , motor was working but not moving anything . Fortunately parts not expensive the job cost me £143 but thats without the cost of a new rear trim panel , i am guessing that will be in 3 figures . Very much Mickey Mouse design from Skoda , how to make a simple job into a difficult and expensive one , definately not impressed .

I drilled a hole roughly where its shown on undertheradars car but cant see a release lever , took it down to a local garage they also checked it out and couldnt find a release so its booked in for them to sort , they did warn that they may have to wreck the trim to get at it , great design Skoda !!!! . My car is a 2015 Superb SE Business , you may want to check your own car and make provision before it happens to you .

Thank You

Thanks for that , my cover is not hard plastic like that its the faux carpet stuff , but now i know its approx position i can drill a hole and try and push it
-
There appear to be no openings of any kind apart from 2 plastic screw covers in the lower section , i have pulled these out and poked around but there is nothing there apart from the screw heads deeply recessed .
-
Nope that didnt work and it was well thumped
-
Many thanks for the reply , i will give it a go .

My hatch is refusing to open , i can hear the motor when i press the button so presume electrics are ok , crawled into boot to try and access a manual release but cant find any removable access panels , any ideas anyone

A couple of weeks ago I got rid of my Octy VRS FL Tdi , I was a little sorry to see it go as it looked like new and was still low mileage but I was fed up of the fidgety ride on 18” wheels . My previous VRS was on 17” wheels and always felt composed but the FL whilst having lots of grip didnt encourage relaxed touring . I picked up its replacement an SE business 150 tdi and took it touring Cornwall for a couple of weeks and added another 1400 or so miles onto the 13000 it had when I got it , so my initial impressions are : Pros Very comfortable and composed ride ride but can still be hustled if required , lots of grip but just a bit of a soggy turn in I can now drive over the square speed humps cleanly without a jolt as they fit between the wheels . ACC is brilliant and makes for relaxed motorway driving (when the M5 is moving that is) Auto parking brake is good and will get better when I remember I have it and stop wrenching the wifes right arm at traffic lights . Fuel is good according to the longterm on the dash which reads a tad under 55mpg Cons No rear wiper , I assumed in this day and age all hatchbacks had rear wipers so I never even looked for one when I bought it , needless penny pinching on what is supposed to be Skodas premier range . Stop/Start is a pita The ignition key is 90 deg out compared to Octy so at present I keep holding it the wrong way until my brain decides to reprograme (its an age thing) Its a long car , when parking the Octy I just swung in to a gap and it was striaght , with the Superb I have to shuffle it to get it striaght . Drls look a bit pathetic after the Octys LEDs The SatNav voice is a bit robotic and annoying compared to my TomTom Overall I am impressed and pleased with the car , compared to the Octy I miss the extra power when going uphill or overtaking but I will get used to it .
