  1. It's never made that sound before though - only recently with the very cold weather. Anything to worry about?
  2. With the recent cold weather I've noticed that my car is making a weird rattling noise when starting up from cold. It usually disappears when the car is warm. Don't know what the part is called so took a pic: Any ideas on what the cause is and what can be done?
  3. Taken my Fab vRS for a few services here, they've not once washed the car! Not too much of a bother since I like to do it myself anyway but would be nice to see them make the effort. They also told me that my driver side door rattle was due to the speaker being 'blown' when it blatantly wasn't and still isn't now. Apart from that they seem to be ok but I'll be taking my car to Garlands in Aldershot next to see how they compare.
  4. Jokes about Hondas? Gotta be the "VTEC just kicked in yo!" pics.. plenty more on google
  5. How many of you have 215/40 tyres on your standard vrs alloys? Really concerned about handling (not so much on ride quality ) as I'm about to get mine fitted soon. I'll take it easy of course before going all out as I need to scrub them in anyway
  6. *Bump* Still looking for a place! Was thinking of just calling around and ask for quotes. What I want to do is buy the sub online then ask in a shop to get them to install. What's the deal if they do happen to break something while installing the sub? Any advice would be great..
  7. Hi guys, Is there anywhere around the South of England area (I live near-ish Guildford) where I can get an Infinity Basslnk installed? Don't really fancy doing it myself as its a major hassle and also I'd probably end up breaking a few things.. Obviously a place where they've worked with Fabias before would be a major advantage as the install is quite Fabia specific, what with the removing of the glovebox etc.
  8. Earthed locally? Is that just sticking one of the wires onto a metal part of the car? Do the sill trims/carpet areas come off easily or are there tools I will need?
  9. Sorry to bring up an old thread but I'm currently considering getting an Infinity Basslink instead of getting an amp for my current 15inch Vibe (think it might be a touch overkill and its a bit too big for my liking). Anyway my question is how difficult will it be to install one of these and is it a lot easier than doing a separate amp plus sub? Can't find any newbie guides on the net on how to install a sub - is it just possible to wire the cables down the car without taking all the trim off? I was thinking down from the glovebox area (assuming theres some holes in there somewhere..) and then under carpets/front seats and then under rear carpets/seats and into the boot? Also, how many wires in total are needed to wire up the basslink?
  10. Most definitely did look awful! So much so that I pumped them up the next day anyway to 32psi but will pump them to 34 next time I'm at the petrol station. Thanks guys
  11. Just got a couple fitted on today, the guy said that he's put them both on 30psi and to leave them at this pressure for about 200/300 miles so that they wear better.. Shall I ignore this and pump them up to a higher pressure straight away? Also, what pressure is everyone using for theirs once the tyres have worn in for 2/300 miles?
  12. Hi guys, Looks like you're right bengie, opened her up and its a PT-150 900W @ 4 Ohms!! So I'm looking at a pretty expensive amp right? Might think about giving it back to my mate and buying a smaller 10/12inch.. its taking up a lot of boot space at the moment! So, bearing in mind that I ideally dont want to spend more than £200 in total would it be better to stick with this sub and buy an amp or get £80 back for it then I'd have £280 to spend on a smaller sub plus amp? I like the sound from the speakers at the moment but I could do with a touch more bass (obviously!) but I'm not sure I need a 15inch beast! Wondering what peoples opinions were on 10/12 inch ones? Listen to most types of music but mainly RnB, Soul, slow jams etc
  13. Thanks guys, I'm gonna take it apart and have a look soon. Will be back once I find out the model number!
  14. Am I just being stupid.. the box has all the carpet covering so is there still an easy way to take it out? Can I not find out what sub it is from the info on the front of the speaker? Edit: He cant remember whether its RMS or peak and he used to power it from a 300watt JBL amp.. might be a cause for concern? How will I know whether its blown or not?
