  1. Oh no , I bought the A980s but have not tried them yet! I will have to sell them now and order the correct ones. That's why I couldn't find them online in german ebay. What about the rear wiper? Is Bosch a282h ok? In the previous post the first word was "spasibo" but this forum does not seem to understand russian
  2. ??????? briskykat! I really needed these. I don't think that there is a change in part numbers between the manual and the DSG, what do you think? I own the DSG version. Regarding the windscreen wipers I chose Bosch, seem better than Valeo (factory fitted)
  3. Does anyone know the part numbers of the filters(oil, air, cabin fuel) for the 1.2 tsi? I don't want to go to the dealer for this. Maybe someone knows a good web page when you can order them?
  4. My average speed is 23 km/h even though I do 20 km of highway almost every day .So short trips and city usage most of the time. I never buy cheap gasoline but we never really know its quality. Labour charges are really low here, I used to have the oil changed paying less than 5 euros on my old car. That's why this whole affair seems fishy to me. While I understand that an officially endorsed dealer asks for more, 20 times more seems excessive (around 90 euro labour charges), especially if you have to do it every 7500 km. I will ask around about other dealers and will try to buy the oil and filters online just to be sure they are of good quality. Anyway I will make the oil change at 10000 km which seems reasonable.
  5. Since I bought my car, my dealer (the only one in here officially recognized by Skoda) insists on doing the oil and filters change EVERY 7500km at an extreme price of 200 euro. I told them it seemed this is being done out of greed and no car should need servicing so often. They told me that after measurements that Skoda technicians had done they advised servicing was needed this often because of air pollution and bad quality fuel . They also use the best (most expensive) oil for this, the Castrol long life . When my car was under warranty, I had no choice, I had to do every service there. But now I am thinking of doing this somewhere else. I am thinking of extending the service interval to every 10000 km. Is this sensible? My friends say that even this is overkill but I don't want to take chances. What do you recommend?

    VCDS changes

Had some changes made 1. Coming Home and Leaving Home function now uses fog lights instead of Xenons 2. Removed the seatbelt "ping" which I hate more than anything 3. Staging. Not as useful as the other changes , but looks nice. For those of you who can understand German (or google translate) this link has a great deal of VCDS codes for our Yeti: http://vag-codierungen.jimdo.com/codierungen-%C3%BCbersicht/skoda-yeti/
  7. I checked your profile and there are only posts made this year. Maybe the forum doesn't save the posts made earlier. I found it by searching. Funny, I read this thread yesterday but since my dealer told me about fuel pipes and than recreated the problem I was sure it was the fuel pipes and not the break pipe. I have to check by myself anyway. Thanks servicepoint
  8. Resurrecting this thread because I think I have the same rattle. It happens only when the engine is cold on the passenger side. The dealer said it is a known problem with the fuel pipes. And indeed he reproduced it just by holding the pipes a certain way. They said they fixed it but it seems they made it worse. Now it rattles all the time. Does anyone else has this problem? How did you solve it?
  9. I use the manual mode rarely. I have always used manual before the Yeti and I would like to use it more but it seems impossible to use. With my previous car I could hear the engine noise (old diesel) and change gears accordingly while with the Yeti I can't (music is always too loud probably ). I know I can change gears looking at the current speed but with 7 gears I wouldn't have time to look outside. And this car even insults me, if I don't change gear when I am supposed to, the car does it itself ... even in manual mode!!!
  10. After my car was hit from behind (my bumper had to be painted) I too am hearing a knocking noise on idle. As soon as the car is moving (I have the DSG version) the noise disappears. My Skoda dealer after checking told me that the gearbox should be changed. From my web searches though, I think it should be the dual mass flywheel. I'll check with them to clarify. Maybe they meant DMF instead of gearbox.
  11. Thanks guys for reminding me of this hidden menu. I was going to look in the manual for it but always forgot. I normally just turn the volume up while I am using reverse because I forgot where this menu was located. Probably I have selected the option High thinking that would raise the volume of the music .
  12. None of my sunglasses fit. I put there my garage door remote now.
  13. I am glad I was able to help! In this forum usually I feel I'm unable to help, because I am not good with cars . But computers, cellphones and electronics in general... that's another matter. Anything you need help with in this field, just ask.
  14. I had the same problem with my Samsung Galaxy S2. I noticed that shortly after it connected, there was a message on the phone asking if I wanted to share the phone book which I hadn't noticed. I suggest that you try to look at your phone as soon as it pairs. Maybe try again to delete the pairing from the bluetooth options and try again the pairing. Also at the bluetooth options on the phone, as ExAudiSi says, check if BTSkoda is authorized. Let me know if it worked.
  15. I have the 12 speaker upgrade and I do recommend it. I disagree with Terfyn, if you listen to the music loud enough properly, you can not even hear road noise. Or any other noise for that matter ;). Having said that, I have some problems with the speakers. There is some vibration coming from them that gets stronger with songs that have heavy bass. I found in this forum some tips on how to fix this (the door frame is the culprit) but I wanted to check with the dealer first. Anyway I still would recommend the extra speaker option because it's still worth it.

    Professions

Yes it is a high pressure job, (and sometimes scary) but still its exciting working as an air traffic controller. I get to talk everyday to literally hundreds of pilots of different nationalities coming from different parts of the world and scattering all over. Love it!

    Professions

I graduated in 1999 with a bachelor degree in Economics / management and after that tried to work in marketing here in Albania. But after 3 months I was already bored. Luckily I took part in a test to select future air traffic controllers in our National Air Traffic Agency and I won. Since then, I have been working as an assistant/ air traffic controller (area and approach sectors) and since 2 years ago as an On The Job Training Instructor in Tirana, Albania. I travel a lot (which I love) in different countries for training and refresher courses. I really love my job and I hope to enjoy the 20 years I have got till retirement.
  18. 34 , and it seems we are the minority here ...
  19. If you keep the lock button pressed for more than 2 seconds than all windows close automatically. So maybe when you locked the car you kept it pressed a little longer?
  20. I searched our beloved forum and found nothing on this topic, but searched Google and found something in a German page : boreo radio tweak which gives some links about a device which modifies/uses the bolero screen to play dvd videos and navigate. Can someone confirm this? Has anyone done this or any other modification of this sort to the Bolero? The add on is called QVL RCD510 and here is one of the videos I could find: If you watch the video you can see the Bolero also used as a tv and as a display for rear cameras. Seems like a good add on, but you would still need someone to install it because it looks difficult to install. Also I don't know the price. After one month of ownership, I think its still too early for me to start doing anything that involves using a screwdriver. But something to keep in mind for later.
  21. I ordered the sunglasses holder but I found out that it is really a spectacles holder. I don't use it at all. My sunglasses aren't that big either. The only option I regret ordering . Although for 15 euro... maybe it is worth it to keep collecting dust.

    First birthday

Same here about the armrests and I am 5'6". Probably it's the way we positioned the seat?
  23. I have had this problem on many cars (not on my yeti though) and not only. I used so see sparks, on trying to enter a hotel room in a carpeted corridor in a hotel in Prague (and there were no girls involved). I blamed it on the carpet and it affected everyone staying at that hotel. The method I used was: use the room key to touch the door handle and even on daylight I could see sparks. I now use my house/car keys whenever the problem arises. I have noticed that it only happens during cold days.
  24. I have the opposite problem. I have kph in the speedo and mph in the maxidot. I would swear that I used to have kph in both at the beginning, but after some tinkering with the maxidot I have this problem. I want only kph and I don't intend to drive to the UK. Why is this option active even on non UK cars?
