  1. Air Traffic Controller. Bought a new 2011 170bhp 4x4 estate (which the ex kept when we broke up a few months back), and I'm now contemplating buying another new one (same spec). Quality for the price is unbeatable, even if I'd rather have something else than the rater flimsy Columbus-system. Also the interior is falling behind the competitors, but still; the price/quality-ratio is very, very good
  2. Mine's done 25 000 KM and haven't used oil. At all. Zip. Nothing. (It's a 170bHP 4x4. I'm 26 and not especially light-footed either).
  3. Got a 2011 Estate. Living in Norway, so the driver seat is on the left hand side (seeing the car from behind). Umbrella is on the same side as the driver.
  4. I got a Fiscon Plus for my Superb Estate 2011 (With original Columbus, but no bluetooth). They had to install an extra microphone in the roof because the internal mic for NAVI wouldn't work with the BT. It works flawlessly, and is integrated with both Columbus + MaxiDOT. Link: http://fiscon-mobile.com/products/rns_510.php PS: I got it installed by an aftermarket BT-firm and they spent approx. 2 hours doing it. Total cost approx 500 Euros.
  5. It's definitely worth it! My GF got me to skip it due to the added cost when we ordered - but driving around without it made me almost crazy ... So I had to get an aftermarket upgrade for my Columbus which set me back almost 600 Euros (for unit + install), and they couldn't even integrate the microphone (because the "microphone spot" was already occupied by the mic for the SATNAV, and they couldn't use that same microphone for the aftermarket Bluethooth-module ... Anyway, now it works splendidly and I would not be without it!
  6. Find it annoying yes, but don't have a solution for it (yet)
  7. Happened to me 2 days ago as well while I was washing it (it was locked).... Suddenly the windows (and sunroof) opened approximately 1/5... Figured the key had been depressed in my pocket ....
  8. My seats (leather) takes between 5-10 minutes to get warm and cozy ....
  9. I have the diesel-aux-heater myself and it's pure ownage during the winter months here in Norway! With temperatures below -5c (and often down to -15c) it makes the mornings much more enjoyable both for me and the car! Nothing beats the feeling you get from getting into a car that's at +15c a cold, snowy morning! The only thing I don't like is that you can't pre-heat the seat from the remote! :(
  10. Woot? Not available... But.. But... It's 2 of the most important things on the entire vehicle! Besides the 4x4, the nifty engine, the satnav, the giant boot, the ....
  11. Evenin! Had a 170bhp 4x4 with essentially "all the bells and whistles" for 8 months now. Living in Norway, so encountered quite a bit of snow as well as temperatures below -15 centigrade. So far I'm very very impressed and insanely happy 4x4 combined with spiky wheels is "da bomb" (sorry I've seen too much American TV-lately). Strongly advise you to get the "diesel-heater", so you can pre-warm the car before setting off in the winter. Good luck
  12. After selling our old apartment we had approximately 120.000 Euros in cash. Spent 55.000 on the Superb (yes they are VERY expensive here in Norway) and the rest on our current house So basically it is a an ordinary "loan", but at 3,15% instead of 8%
  13. So the consensus is that I can forget to retrofit the bluetooth?
  14. kimmert: welcome to the forums I'm actually very happy with the sun-roof over all; just being a bit picky considering the (damned) blind-thingy
  15. But ... I for one would like the windows and the sunroof to close automatically when it starts to rain, but not the damn blind... The tint in the sunroof is more than enough to kill of the sun at my latitude at least (58-63N)
  16. Alcon, I find it strange that he said that it could be fitted afterwards ... Called up my dealer who said that this was 100% impossible.
  17. Not on mine ... We got the standard "multi-function" steering wheel (no phone-buttons) and the only function the "phone-button" has is to pause the music.
  18. Ello! Got a 2011 Superb with quite a lot of bells and whistles but without the darned mobile-integration (feeling like a dork for leaving it out in the first place) ... Is it possible to E-bay-buy some kind of module and retrofit it easily so that I get bluetooth-pairing between my iPhone(4) and the Columbus-system? The functionality I want is basically to use the car's internal speakers as "handsfree" with my iPhone tucked away in my pocket. (I reckon some kind of microphone is needed as well) ... Anyone? Kind regards, TH
  19. I have the 4x4 with winter-spiked-wheels and it's utterly awesome! None of my neighbors have a 4x4-fitted vehicle and they all dread the come of winter because of the hill we all have to traverse to get onto the road (we live in a valley) ... During the last few weeks I've frequently seen stuck cars, or cars being pushed up the hill by 3-4 helpers ... No problems what so ever in the Superb
  20. Do you think they will retrofit our cars equipped with the sound system? The rattle drives me quite crazy.... (got mine 2 weeks ago)
  21. How can you positively tell that you have heated nozzles? Here in norway it isn't an option when ordering but I expect it might be standard due to our rather harsh & coldish climate. TH
  22. Norwegian tax is quite high indeed. Our 170bhp 4x4 set us back 58.837.- GBP (directly converted). :'(
  23. Well it might be my age (I'm only 24) but my hearing (according to test in relation to my work) is quite average. The hissing is actually quite pronounced, but only when the engine is off. Turn the engine on and the hissing disappears between all the bells & whistles of the engine. But even if you can't pick out the hissing it will still of course meddle & muddle with the sound. Especially in my case since I listen to quite a lot of classical music. Tried to listen to Rachmaninov 3 today in the car while stationary but had to turn it off after a few minutes due to the hissing really ****ing me off ... Constant white noise at 20/30% of the volume of the piano is annoying! *Rant complete* Guess I'll have to learn how to live with it ... Cheers, TH
  24. Went back to the dealer today. Mech found nothing wrong. Then I got to listen to another Superb's stereo (also Columbus+upgraded sound) and it was exactly like mine! Can't say I'm too impressed with the system if it's actually supposed to be like this. The "hissing" is (to me) very apparent and coming from every speaker. Estimating the loudness to be "average whispering" (between people) from a few yards away. When I get my iPhone back from repair in a few days I'll use dB-monitor-software to get an accurate reading of the noise. Dissapointed regards TH
