  1. My SC2's lasted 14k on the fronts, have now swapped to SC5's which seem a better tyre (quieter and more grip in all conditions, no difference mpg wise).
  2. 15000 miles in 7 months and absolutely zero complaints from me. No marks, bobbles, signs of wear at all.
  3. Actually yes, yes I can: That was recorded in my previous mk2 FL Greenline over 42 miles from South Wales to the Portbury dock in Bristol. The Maxidot in that car was always within 2% accurate so make of that what you want.
  4. Manual TDi VRS estate, 14524 miles so far, 01/09/13, 54 ish mpg to date (actual, not maxidot readings), Love it!
  5. That picture was taken on Friday after a week worth of commuting from Ystrad Mynach in the valleys to the Portbury dock in Bristol, about 45 miles each way. The warmer temps have helped as has the fact the car's done just over 13k miles. My last car was a FL Octy Greenline so I used to hypermile that everywhere, not so much the VRS, it gets driven as it should the majority of the time. I've driven the VRS elsewhere and have arrived at the conclusion that my commute is very sympathetic to the mileage.
  6. At least 500, most of the time 550 in a manual estate. Here's my current tank:
  7. I'm lucky, my commute is 40 miles each way, 25 miles flat motorway and 15 miles ascending the Welsh valleys on A roads. But agree, warmer weather is seeing a marked improvement, pleasantly surprised!
  8. I love my 184, great engine and economy isn't as bad as some make out. The warmer weather has affected me for the better with my most recent tank full: The tank was filled last Sunday, with the picture being taken on Friday afternoon.
  9. I would put that down to the majority of mk3 owners on here being VRS owners.
  10. My new mk3 is absolutely leagues ahead of my face lift mk2, not even discussion worthy.
  11. The fact that they've started to trickle through should make it a bit quicker for you. Good idea with the email.
  12. I've got a couple of good mates at Skoda garages and got them to ring SUK for me, the unofficial answer they got was they can't build the cars quick enough to satisfy demand let alone setting parts aside for part supply only.
  13. Yea, similar damage to mine by the sounds of it. Get the garage to order ASAP and then go in for fitting when it's in. Fingers crossed it's in quickly for you!
  14. Mine came in after a 4 week wait. At no point was I given any update details or expected delivery dates, it was all a mystery. In the end I got the garage to patch it up so I could drive the car while I waited, is that feasible for you?
  15. Mine (24 - driving since 2008): 2000 (W) Renault Clio 1.4 'Sport' 53 Ford Fiesta 1.25 Finnesse 53 Peugeot 206 GTi 180 (which I loved) 53 Skoda Fabia VRs (turned out to have been smashed up - was a pig) 59 Skoda Octavia mk2 FL 1.6 Greenline 63 Skoda Octavia mk3 VRS TDi SWMBO (22 - Driving since 2010): 57 Toyota Yaris SR (Cracking car) 59 Vauxhall Astra 1.8 SRi Exterior Pack 62 Skoda Citigo Elegance Greentech (Written off - her fault) 63 Skoda Citigo Sport (the replacement).
  16. The grill and bumper are one complete piece, one can't be replaced without the other unfortunately! Is the damage substantial?
  17. I'm in exactly the same situation, front bumpers are on back order with no delivery date so I got them to patch mine back together so I can drive it until the bumper comes in, could be a very long wait so the choice is yours. If it's the grill just below the bonnet it's integral to the bumper so the whole bumper has to be changed, that's what's holding mine up.
  18. Smart repair will be the best option, I wouldn't even consider looking at new bumpers as my VRS has been in the garage for a month now due to bumpers being on back order with no delivery dates available!
  19. Hill Hold Control (HHC). Is a nice feature, not fussed on the Octys system though, seems like it's too clingy / snatchy!
  20. Picked my VRS up on September 1st, ticked over 10000 miles last week and tyres have maybe worn 1/3 of the way to the depth markers. Yours sounds very excessive.
  21. How early is it as mine is a very early example and I've got it?
  22. I don't fully understand the system to say if it would or not but AFAIK front assist has never been standard on a VRS!
  23. Nah its going to be cheaper to claim (400 excess plus potential 300 premium increase versus potentially 1500 for repair! Plus damage to the other guys car!) Thanks nonetheless!
