Looking to buy a 2004/05 Shalhambra but their engines aren't veg oil compatable, so I'm musing over getting one and fitting it with an ASV engine and Bosch fuel pump. I'm not mechanically savvy, so I'm scouting for as much info about problems and pitfall that I'm likely to encounter. Any advice would be very gratefully appreciated

Hi all, TBH, I have no idea what to check for when looking at a car. So, I've seen an Octy 2 4x4 in Wakefield and was wondering if anyone would look it over for me to see if there are any obvious problems or ones that are potentially lurking. I wouldn't expect this help for free but also wouldn't expect any advisor to pick up on every minute detail. I wouldn't know what are the common faults on these and appreciate any help for those that really know these, so I don't buy a lemon that dies when I'm abroad. Anyone available ? As a side note..... Would there be a lot of work required to swap the td PD engine for the older 1.9 td engine ? So it can be used for veg oil running. Any help would be appreciated on this one.
