  1. Hi, Yes changing the drivers multi switch did cure the problem. It was exactly the same issues you had. The switch is fairly cheap to buy, I guess the fiddly part is popping it out. Plenty of you tube videos to help. Good Luck
  2. Yes I was somewhat surprised, normally get a basic Leon , great car but not one I would buy, I’d rather have a Caterham 7🏎️💨
  3. Finally issue has been resolved by local dealer!! The window motor and regulator had become misaligned and causing the window to close incorrectly!! It took the garage 4 days to resolve, service manager decided to go ahead with repair even though skoda "Technical" had not authorised the work. On the plus side I has a Cupra Formentor Z2 as a courtesy car , 310 BHP and 4 wheel drive, 0-60 4.2 secs. It was awesome!!
  4. Thanks Tom, I have emailed Skoda Customer Service (original Skoda Warranty as car is not 3 years old yet - Nov 2023) no response from them yet! The issue has been flagged to "Skoda Technical by dealer", but they take about 2 weeks to reply. Dealer Service Manager is on holiday for two weeks, will wait a few days, if nothing heard I will contact The JCB Euro Skoda Group Director. It is so frustrating and time consuming.... seems Skoda UK don't like paying out on warranties!! I bet if I offered the dealer to pay for further investigations, the car would get booked in tomorrow!!
  5. if it wasn't under warranty I totally agree!! it ain't worth the stress and wasted time !!
  6. Two visits back to my local skoda dealer and issue still exists. I am getting very frustrated with delays and raised it with their management. From what i see, because the work will be carried out under warranty the dealership will not carry out any more work unless it is pre-authorised by head office!! Which just adds delays and wasted trips to my local dealer! Any suggestions would be appreciated
  7. My car is a Karoq 2020. I bought the car a year old . Nov 2022 the drivers side electric window started making a loud clunk on closing. It went into local dealer and the regulator mechanism was replaced. 6 months later june 2022 the closing is noisy again (also the drivers multi switch has a mind of its own, works then not ), not so loud but a new issue has occurred , once the window is fully closed and the window switch is pulled up (confirming it is fully closed) there is a loud clonk. This clonk does not happen every time (see and listen to video) The car went back to the dealer , multi switch replaced, but they could not replicate the clon,k but agree the closing noise is not correct. They have raised the matter with "Technical" at head office and I am awaiting their next move. The car is still under warranty and there appears to be a reluctance on the dealers part to investigate further without advice from head office. Any advice would be gratefully received. 8. hi , I have just been test driving the mk3 octavia , 1.4tsi elegance (i already own a nmk2 tdi vrs) i first drove the estate version (14 plate) car was absolutley fine , no boom and little road noise , a very good car. Later on that day I drove a mk3 octavia 1.4tsi elegance hatch back , immediately as I pulled out ont the road for a test drive , I heardthis low level rumble at all speeds and road surfaces, it was though a rear window was open , but it wasnt .On returning from the test drive I explained to the dealer what I found (no comment by them)and unfortunately because of this noise I ddnt want to procede with the purchase , I was dissapointed as it is a great carin the Elegance spec and having owned the VRS for 4 years I am more than happy with Skoda. On checking the web i found this link Low frequency 'boom' in cabin - Fixed - Skoda Rapid - BRISKODA.net page 4 and if it is correct could solve the problem Newboater, you are a star! I just went out to look at the two stoppers on the car body. They were set to their lowest level. I adjusted them up notch by notch testing the boot closure until it would not latch closed. (Needed a special screwdriver, but my set had one) I then backed them off one notch to allow the boot to latch and went for a drive. My initial opinion is that it has resolved the booming issue. I will do some driving on worse roads when I have more time and when it's not dark and raining. Right now though I am very happy! This theory is also backed up by my weekend drive with the family. It was really cold when we left home and the booming was not as bad as usual. On our return journey it seemed worse. Thinking about it now, on the return journey the temperature was much higher which meant the boot rubber stops were softer allowing more movement, thus more resonance. They are big lumps of rubber. Of course, I have the boot set to its tightest fit now, so if the temperature goes down, the rubber will be harder and the boot may not latch again. I have left my tools in the boot so I can adjust as needed. I may back it off a bit more so as not to strain the lock mechanism. Bidey, adjust your boot stoppers and hopefully your nightmare will be over and you can enjoy the car once more.. I will suggest this to my dealer and fingers crossed it will cure the problem and I will then happily purchase the mk3 octavia hatch
