  1. I get it in mine and the a/c helps to clear it but it's still annoying especially when the entire windscreen is soaking wet. I have tried applying anti-mist/fog stuff to the inside and still the same problem. That and the squeaky seat are my only two niggles about my vRS. Hopefully the seat will get sorted tomorrow (second time round)
  2. It probably was an SLK , perhaps the K dropped off ? Anyway, if it was a Kompressor that makes me feel even better about the Furby
  3. Had an encounter less than 2 weeks ago in my Fabia vRS. Theres me at the traffic lights all nice and calm going about my business and next to me pulls up a lady in Merc SL200 who clearly is in a hurry as she is creeping over the white line and obviously is going to cut me up coming off the roundabout as she is in wrong lane just so she could get to the front of the queue So ......I decide I'm not having that , the lights turn green and almost immediately I have pulled away and only expect to get as far as the roundabout exit without being cut up and then the Merc will gain on me, HOW WRONG WAS I? I must have pulled about 5 car lengths by the time we hit the carriageway and could clearly see in the rearview that the lady in the Merc was not happy and trying to gain on me judgeing by the speed we were both travelling at and her somewhat interesting driving manouvers when she realised she wasnt ging to push past me, but she just couldn't get close eventually I backed off as we were approaching a roundabout and well she just had to try and prove her point and shoot past me and late break on the roundabout just so she could could get ahead, only to find a massive Tescos lorry blocking the exit so she had to swerve and take the wrong exit I guess the msot surprising thing was that SL200 couldnt gain on me? I would have thought it would be a lighter car being only a 2 seater and quoted 0-60 times lower than the Fabia, therefore having an advantage over me? I have no doubt she was trying so another big for the Fabia vRS
  4. Has anybody had the leather covers done in the same scheme as the standard cloth which I happen to actually like? I'm guessing this is classed as a mod in the eyes of the insurance company?
  5. My view for what its worth (not much) Most of the other VAG cars you mention don't come in any specific sport styling or model name (with a PD130 etc) I havent forgotten about GTI's, S3's etc. You could argue that the Polo GT is a sport styled vag car hwoever you cant really tell any difference for ma normal polo. Where the Fabia vRS differs is it can be visually distinguished from the lower specced/alternative fabia models and is recognised as a performance model because of the slightly lower suspension, chrome tailpipe, 16" alloys, bigger bumpers, interior, vRS badges etc. I think it has more to do with the way the car is marketed
  6. Had the same 1.2 in my VW Polo and agree with everyone else a great engine, test drove a 1.4 which felt sluggish in comparison.
  7. http://www.skoda-auto.com/global/entech/designcenter/designcenter_4.htm Reminds me a bit of a 3 series compact.
  8. I'm not sure if it comes as standard with the beep for the alarm, mine didn't. I had my door unlocking programme changed to unlock all the doors when I press the button on the remote as it was set to just unlock the drivers door with one press or all doors with a double click. I couldn't get the hang of the double click and SWMBO thought I was trying to keep her out of the car
  9. Used a guy recommended to me by my local VW dealer when I had my Polo, he came to my work and got three dents out in about an hour and they were completely gone. He charged per panel so would do several dents for the same price provided they were on the same panel. I ended up paying
  10. Having my drivers seat bass replaced this weekend. Only had the car since 1st sept . Oh well.
  11. Nevermind, get well soon and perhaps I'll see you there another time ....... hopefully not because anything major is wrong with the car though. I'm only dropping it off tomorrow because there is a slight intermittent buzz from the drivers door when the stereo is on, and I am having the door unlocking programme changed so I don't have to double click for all the doors to unlock. Oh and since I went in yesterday to book the car in th drivers seat has started to creak
  12. First weekend I had my Fabia vRS I was parked up near the Bull Ring in Birmingham and a VW Passat full of bad boys stopped and signaled me to put my window down so I did and they started asking me loads of questions about the car. I've also been to Luton Airport quite a bit in the last fortnight to pick people up and have noticed if I'm there at night people come and have a look when they think I'm not in the car and then I open the window and they look really embarassed and walk away Have had the usual on road encounters with ***** in Corsas tryign it on, ususally involves them with their foot flat on the accelerator and exhaust pumping out lots of noise, and then me gently apply a little pressure on the accelerator and pumping lots of black smoke like a 007 smoke screen and then leaving the **** way behind. Another thing I find really fun is when you are being tailgated by somebody in a convertible that wont back off is to put your foot down to clear some distance once again pumping out a bit of soot ......... they soon get the idea.
