  1. Afternoon. Haven't posted on here for a couple of millenia, since the wife's Fabia vRS has proven to be 100% reliable despite being caned throughout most of Europe this summer. Anyhoo - I will soon be in the market for a new car myself and my main priority is the regular conveyance of a couple of mountain bikes about the country. As far as I can tell the Roomster is the only car (as opposed to a converted van like a Berlingo) that will swallow a couple in the back and even has an attachment specifically for this purpose. Question is - has anyone tried this? Is it as easy as it looks or is the reality something like a 2 hr job to get a bike in or out and anything bigger than a BMX will be a squeeze? Must admit, having seen the Roomster in the flesh, I am rather taken with it. The front side windows are very Koenigsegg
  2. The old 9-3 Aero was only 205bhp but it was a bit lighter, had more torque (because the proper lump of lead Saab engine could handle it, unlike today's Vauxhall derived crap) and was better geared to get to 60 in under 7 secs. The new Aero is a bit of a let down in performance terms but the chassis is a lot better. Nowt that can't be fixed with a remap and big exhaust though....
  3. Unfortunately the new 9-3 Aero is utter poo and the slowest Aero Saab have ever produced in recent years. Still, not a bad kill ;-)
  4. Makes sense I reckon. As an aside, does anyone have a clue what the PR-Gxx refers to?
  5. 6Q0 413 031 BH shock absorber PR-G01, G05 6Q0 413 031 BJ shock absorber PR-G02 6Q0 413 031 BK shock absorber for models with heavy duty suspension PR-G03, G06 6Q0 413 031 BL shock absorber for sports-type running gear PR-G04 Presumably the L is the vRS specific one
  6. Woohoo! The vRS is ready to pick up tomorrow (3 weeks from ordering - not bad). If you see a Fabia vRS racing a Saab 9-3 along the Black COuntry Route tomorrow, please do catch up to say hello
  7. Silver definitely looks better I think. Especially on a black car. Can't get excited about black wheels. Always remind me of the pikey kid at school who wore black socks in PE when everyone else wore white. Second the motion for Osram Silverstar bulbs. Seem to last a bit longer than the Philips VisionPlus in my experience
  8. Naff. Unless you are a big fat yank with a Cadillac to put it on.
  9. Count yourself lucky. At my age, that Skoda's nearly new :(
  10. D'oh - good point. Would indeed make an interesting trackday project - especially with a big stoopid engine shoehorned into the back of it.
  11. Try a Saab 2.3T lump for an easy 200+ bhp as standard (nearly 300 bhp easily available with just a remap and big exhaust) Find one from a Saab 9000 for about 5-600 quid with a free car thrown in. Haven't a clue if one will fit but someone stuck one in the back of a 911 once. God know's why...
  12. Wonder why it would make an ideal restoration project if it's already mint and immaculate. 24000 miles my ****.
  13. I have for a long time seriously fancied one of these to do up and tune the nuts off: S110R Trouble is there are only about a dozen of these left on the roads in the UK. :( I honestly think it's one of the coolest looking cars around (having a parent from Eastern Europe probably has a lot to do with my soft spot for commie cars of all shapes and sizes. Except Ladas) Anyone else here partial to the old stuff? :drive:
