Yea in the rear window of my octy estate and a shark one on the otherside
  2. Not a chance without massive work mate. Have a look on google images at the shape of the front edge of the front doors on a golf and an octavia and the skoda door has a much bigger curve in it. This means that you will have to heavily modify the wings to get them to fit and there is a good change that the side shape is gonna be completely different aswell! Within reason the front end parts will bolt on to the chassis rails as floor platform is the same, but where the bonnet meets the windscreen scuttle panel is gonna be completely different aswell. Just gonna be chasing your tail with issues in the end fella No sure what u mean with regards to the grills
  3. Cracking idea and build fella. Constantly got bonkers ideas floating about in my head aswell and love to see there's others out there . A fabolous self built toy to scare the proverbial out of many a big money off the shelf car. Congrats and respect
  4. Lovely looking Octavia that is aswell fair play. Answers all the questions raised aswell and the fact I should pay more attention (I kind of guessed right though)
  5. Can understand thats possible when the dropping a lot due to the constant increase of pressure in the shock, but i would be very suprised if there would be any problems with these Eibach springs as they have a large testing budget and same shocks used on loads of VAG models. Would be a lot of people talking about it on the forums soon enough!
  6. Had them on my vrs estate and great handling and comfort, but didnt drop my car low enough for my personal taste so i sold them and bought coilovers. £120 is a decent price delivered as im sure i paid £175 for mine.
  7. Check the width of the runners on your 08 plate octavia mate and see if they match up. I may be a straight swap but i would doubt it as completely different chassis on the mk3. May find the easiest way is to have a look at whether its possible/easier to transfer the mk3 seats onto your mk2 runners. Also dont forget that the airbag connections will probably have to be joined unless the connection terminals are the same Good luck and be nice to know if they do fit as id fancy doing the new vrs seats in my mk2 (gonna be expensive though)

Hey mate what colour is your octavia and is it estate or saloon vrs etc? Im living in Skewen and got a mk2 silver vrs estate (grey wheels) so il keep an eye out and say hello if i see u about. PS Mine used to be an unmarked dog car in Nottingham police until someone decided to park it in a hedge and i rebuilt it
  9. Don't rule out a boost leak fella. Those fault codes could easily be throwing you off. I had hesitation in the same rev range with a split hose with no errors.
  10. Blimey wasn't expecting that as a reply! I'll give you a pm now and thank you
  11. Hi all just wanted to check something on here as my vrs estate roof lining is damaged and needs replacing. Does anyone have a NON VRS with a black roof lining as just want to narrow my search down if they were only fitted to the VRS. Cheers

    bridgend area

Yea if there's a meet in Bridgend area or Swansea etc then I'll be up for popping down for a chat (if I'm not working)
  13. Yea thats what i remember the droplinks fitting like on the original struts, but with the eibach arb and coilovers fitting the droplinks the same as original means that where it bolts to the strut is at a really awkward angle and just doesnt seem right. Cant understand why tbh, but do have a set of adjustable ones lying about so may see what they fit like and the added bonus of being able to fit with the heads on either way (due to the thread). Only reason they have them the way they do is that its the same part number for both sides so will see how i get on once i have chance to take the wheels off. Also need to drop the car about 10mm all round as got used to the look of a low car now and not keen on current arch gaps. Local speed humps wont be happy with my decision no doubt lol.
  14. Ok all thanks for the replies. I've got the v-maxx coilovers fitted but would love some information from anyone running coilovers (amazing if u have an upgraded front arb aswell) as to droplink fitting. Reason I ask is that after fitting the coilovers the droplink on one side is at such a strange angle when put back on due to the fact that standard on droplink fits on the front of the mount (when I say mount I mean the bracket welded on the strut to bolt the droplink through) on the strut and the other side it fits on the rear of the mount on the strut (I'm 99% on that but if someone can just have a quick look at their standard struts (on full lock) and double check I'm right. On mine with suspension fitted I've had to fit the droplinks on the front of the mount on both sides so has anyone else seen this. Any help will be amazing
  15. Yea will update on how they are. One favour from someone if the will is if you have coilovers fitted can you just take a quick pic of the arb position when the car is sat on the road (just under the front of the car and point camera towards where it meets the droplink). Thank u very much
  16. As the title says peeps, ive got V Maxx coilovers on their way to fit on the vrs. Looking to lower it about 50mm and wondering if i need adjustable droplinks? I do also have front and rear Eibach ARB's. Anyone got V Maxx coilovers fitted and can offer some advise on their ride height etc is gratefully appreciated.
  17. Thought I had better update to say I went for the Uniroyal Rain Sport 3 and after 8 weeks nothing more to say other than all round and completely AMAZING
  18. Well finally fitted the box today on the Leon fr and fair play what a difference. Installation is very neat and tidy aswell. Excellent stuff just a pity I ordered the old style box just a few weeks before the new one came out and by the time I fitted it I wish I had waited and would have if I had know. Oh well the box will stay on 4.1 so not as if il need to open it much.
  19. Unreal how may VAG cars have this issue and cant really say an exact solution to it. My octavia does it about 45 mph, my missus leon does it about 35 mph and the old mans a6 does it at 60mph. Changed tyres, done wheel alignment, checked bearings etc etc and just seems that whatever VAG car u have it appears at some point. Yes some people have managed to resolve it, but some have spent big money and not solved it. Very strange issue and not what u wanted to hear i know, but just dont throw money changing perfectly good parts chasing it. Swap the front tyres with the back and see if it helps and if its under warranty get skoda to do a 4 wheel alignment. At least you know where you are then. One little thing i got told by a tech in VW is that the rear bearings are prone to being noisy on the whole VAG range (noise doesnt always sound like its coming from the rear) and they will fell solid when the wheel is shaken so people think their fine.
  20. any chance I can have a bit of info on the bumper fitting aswell fella?Sent from my HTC One using Tapatalk
  21. got one on the way for my silver estate so will put pics up once it arrives. gonna be painted gunmetal grey same as the wheels and grill. Liking the look of the facelift front bumper so gonna have to try and find out about that Sent from my HTC One using Tapatalk
  22. Haha yea this is an old thread, but one thing just incase anyone does stumble soon this for info is that you don't need to drop the headlining to remove the rails. There is a cover on the front middle and rear of the rails and a bolt underneath which is removed externally. On the other question I didn't know you would buy a Uk Octavia without front fogs tbh. 23. And obviously pay for the badge aswell. Last reply sounds right cheeky sorry. Free bar so I'm a little busy Sent from my HTC One using Tapatalk
  24. Ok well I need one so if he's happy to Chuck one in the batch then il pay postage to me on the extra one. No worries if it's an issue Sent from my HTC One using Tapatalk
