  2. That's the plan. Remap & some M5 alloy wheels And a good polish, covered in swirl marks Can anyone recommend a place in the south that are good at remapping? Would prefer a live map on a dyno.
  3. Picked this up yesterday & part exchanged my Fabia vRS. Just to say thanks to all those that have given me help & advice in the past, even though I haven't been on here all that long :p Missing the MPG from the Fabia, the 350 mile drive to Newcastle I got 56mpg average. On the way back in the BMW I had an average of 38 But I don't do nearly as much driving as I used to so I can live with that Thanks again, Chris
  4. I had Kuhmo ku39s on my vRS. Weren't great to be honest, Proxes took their place.
  5. Pistonheads: http://pistonheads.co.uk/sales/2856788.htm Ebay auction: http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&item=320704813153 I've owned the car since September last year. Not let me down once, honestly! My circumstances have changed and I no longer do 20,000 miles a year. Easily gets 50+mpg and I had an average of 75mpg over 300 miles a few weeks ago. Full Skoda service history. MOT until April 2012 Tax until April 2012 59,800 miles (will rise as used daily) 2 new Toyo Proxes tyres on the front. Rear tyres are getting low. Timing belt, tensioner etc done at 44k (September 2010) Ebiach springs and Koni dampers all round (25mm lower) Remapped to 165bhp with dyno printout. Oil changed every 5k miles. 2 previous owners, last owner was a police officer and took great care of the car, as have I. Test drives & viewings welcome in Salisbury area.
  6. Got mine up for sale http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&item=320704813153&ssPageName=STRK:MESELX:IT
  7. I am tempted. Will have a look on Auto Trader at a few others but this one looks tidy!
  8. I've just ordered a new hose & clips. The rubber one after the plastic 'L' shaped one, £35
  9. Haha I promised to give him a lesson this weekend. Would have used the MX5 (Mk1) but it's still in the garage getting a new clutch (not related ) So had to use the Fabia. He got on ok & I made it clear: you bend it you mend it!
  10. Very funny. No its a MOD owned area on Salisbury Plain that is open to the public at the weekends.
  11. Thanks, feel a bit better now I know exactly what happened. Should I just keep fuses 3 & 12 out until I get a new fan?
  12. I was teaching a friend to drive at a driver learning area. He did slip/burn the clutch a little bit and it began to smell. So I said lets take 5. Opened the bonnet up and there was a bit of smoke, looked closer and the fan for the aircon was burning, then burst into flames!!! I disconnected the battery (brute force. Why is there no quick release!) and poured what water I had in the car on the flames. Kept smoudering for a bit but it went out. I phoned a friend as I didn't have the handbook on me to see what fuses to remove to disable the fan. I removed numbers 3 and 12, both 5amp fuses. I got it the 25 miles home ok. Any ideas on what/why it happened? Thanks
  13. Bangor north Wales to the New Forest 300 miles Average over 40 miles: Average over the total 301 miles (was on 75mpg until the last 30 miles when I put my foot down a bit) Filled the tank up before I left. Was doing ~50mph on A/B roads, 68mph on cruise control on motorways. Oil & air filter changed less than 5k miles ago. Excess weight was just a backpack weighing roughly 5-6kg Remap to 170bhp (RR tested) Toyo Proxes T1R tyres, all freshly inflated to 32psi A couple of pics of the car in the mountains.
