  1. Best one i saw was a Defender kitted to the nines for off roading with WH04 MUD on the plate (WHO 4 MUD)
  2. I am running the 105PS 1.6 CR in a Monte and would be interested in the gains on a stage 1 map.
  3. Well I met up with Jonny this morning, was an absolute pleasure to meet you and thanks for the recoding :-D the car is now a lot closer to how I want it and I can now start my audio install.
  4. Hi Eddie, I am hopefully seeing Jonny tomorrow but if that falls through a backup plan is always good! Is there any chance you can see if I can get access to your friends VCDS? It does need to be a HEX CAN one as it is a new car.
  5. Is there nobody about? I'm willing to travel if required and not adverse to parting with some beer tokens for your trouble...
  6. Hi folks, Is there anyone in the Birmingham area who can do a long coding adjustment on a 61 plate Monte for me? I am looking at defeating the built in EQ on the head unit. I have found a guide for the RNS510 which is supposedly very similar and you can use the long coding helper to do it, I just do not have access to VCDS to do it.
  7. Last year in the real bad snow the vRS was shocking on the standard tyres, but i managed to limp it about by letting the gearbox get hte car moving then just be gentle. I would put winter tyres on it, or failing that get some snow socks on it to keep you honest.
  8. I have owend a MK2 Fabia vRS and just chopped it in for a Monte 1.6 CR TDi 105 . The suspension is not as firm as it was on the vRS, the seats are very comfortable, and there is more weight to the doors and they sound better sound deadened than the vRS (possibly a weight thing?) I am very happy with my Monte and it is very comfortable, but I did come from a vRS so might be a bit biased.
  9. The deal I got was on an already ordered car so no movement on the spec. Got the phone call today to say all the paperwork has been sorted and I just need to pop in tomorrow to sort the CRD out so I should have my new Monte pretty soon
  10. My friend has an Octy with it and on the same journey as me in the vRS (we were following each other) I averaged 57MPG, he did 86! I expect similar returns in the Monte hopefully. It is a lot of power to drop though, 75BHP is rather a lot to lose, but I do get more torque. I might miss the DSG a bit too, been driving DSG cars for 4 years now
  11. Well I think I must have had a bump on the head or something, but I am chopping my 10 plate vRS in against a brand new Monte 1.6CR 105. I am changing jobs soon and the mileage is much higher, plus I got an awesome deal on the Monte so I couldn't really refuse. Good looking car + cheap motoring > all out performance for me now. I am only 28 though and feel like I am getting old too quickly lol
  12. Rather than guessing the channel install InSSIDer and look at what networks are in your area first. Also make sure you are running the latest firmware on the router. Once that side is taken care of, you should check your internal wiring is up to scratch. Every phone socket that is in use with any device must have a micro filter on it. You should also have no more than 4 sockets wired in. If you have unused sockets, you would do well to disconnect them as they just act like giant aerial loops picking up noise. If you can,fit a proper NTE5 ADSL splitter faceplate to the master socket, and plug the router directly into the master socket. Dont forget to also make sure your laptop has the latest drivers for your WiFi adaptor. This is often over looked and can sometimes compound issues. Once this is all done, you are in the best position you can be. If the router still drops connection, look at replacing it. I would personally recommend Draytek is budget was not an issue. If pennies are tighter then Netgear seem ok for the money, or a middle of the road solution would be the Linksys branded stuff as it is actually Cisco's home brand.
  13. Thats my engine bay on Forges website. The hose used on the Forge kit is pretty rubbish and started to wear through very quickly as it moved about and rubbed on the engine bay. I took it off pretty quickly. An aluminium pipe would be good, the only bit that is awkward is it also has to curve vertically a touch, so alignment could be fun.
  14. My datcentre manager uses pfsense for my work stuff, never had a problem with it. He runs it as a VMWare ESX VM and it has been spot on so far. What do you need to know?
