  1. Is it perhaps the grey used on the rapid sport concept? The grey side in the photos on the rapid sport thread look like a solid rather than metallic paint which would tie in with the lower £200 price tag.
  2. So guess that means no Monte Carlo Combi then either? And I really liked the look of it too!
  3. Dear All - Hoping you can help? I have a MK1 vrs with xenon headlamps (Skoda not retrofit). I'm also planning a trip to Europe - could you tell me where to find the lever to flick to continental? If there's already a section on the forum covering this -apologies! Having used the search function this forum was the closest I could find. Thanks
  4. Am very tempted by one of these too. Looking at the current Monte hatch on the SUK configurator the beige, grey and blue aren't available... does anyone know if the estate will only get the same 5 colours or will all 8 be on offer? Particularly the Race Blue? Thanks
  5. Have priced up a 1.6 TDI Elegance on both the UK and Czech configurators ticking pretty much all options boxes on both sites to get a roughly equal comparison (not too scientific I admit... but as a non-Czech speaker I hope this has eliminated any standard spec differences between CZ and UK variants). The UK Rapid topped out at £21,295 while the Czech version was approximately £14,800 (depending on the exchange rate). Unless the Czech configurator does not include their sales tax @ 19% that is an awful big difference of nearly £6,500 even taking into account exchange rate fluctuations and transport costs. Am unsure if the CZ new car market is structured in the same way as the UK one with haggling/discounting etc, but one assumes that the Skoda CZ dealers must also have sales margins and the ability to discount the £14,800 price even further as UK dealers would on the £21.295 price! Unless there is a massive content/technical difference on the CZ model that I’m not aware of? Interestingly the 1.4TSI DSG appeared in Elegance trim on the CZ configurator so it is available even if SUK have decided not to offer it. Also what is going on with certain of the Rapid’s ‘Safety Pack’ option? Why a third rear headrest is inextricably linked to hill hold and tyre pressure monitoring in the ‘Safety Pack’ is beyond me (unless it is a tacit admission by Skoda that if you have a fifth person in the car you’ll be struggling on hill-starts with certain of the engine options... ) and if they aren’t available separately then why list them with separate prices?
  6. The broker Broadspeed have already got the Rapid's 'sister' SEAT Toledo listed at a discount... wonder if the Rapid will follow suit so quickly or whether Skoda dealers have more faith in their product than SEAT dealers?
