  1. HI, I have a MK1 Fabia Estate Elegance with ASR. I know ASR is Automatic Stability Regulation and its a crude traction control system. What I'd like to know is does the ASR button on the dash switch it on or off? I've looked through my user manual and it doesn't say. I'm wondering if its running all the time and the button is for turning it off or the other way round: its always off unless you turn it on with the dash button. your help is appreciated!
  2. cheers guys, since being here ive been able to: diagnose a fault with rear wiper not working (fuse missing), replace a broken spotlight install an AUX-In connects2 box for my ipod replace the pollen filter as well as learn lots of other good stuff. Just shows that places like this work!
  3. thanks for the confirmation. God knows who was servicing my car before i bought it, the original was really manky!
  4. Hey and welcome. I've just bought an '04 Fab Estate and i love it. I'm also into camping and outdoor activities and I love the storage space the estate delivers in such a relatively short car. Plus you can easily put kayaks/canoes on the roof rails. I've just installed a Connects2 aux in adapter that allows me to connect my ipod touch - only took half hour. perfect for those long trips and saves space on not having to carry Cds.
  5. Hi there, I've just successfully installed a connects2 CTVSKX001 aux adapter so i can play my ipod touch through my symphony stereo, using the info provided on this forum - great and thanks! The space behind the two switch blanks seems almost made for the job! Now i'm eyeing up a speaker upgrade - i'm not after a 'full on' upgrade - i want to keep it stealth and as the Fabia estate doesn't have a rigid parcel shelf (its a blind type affair) im looking to upgrade the rear speakers. I know Pioneer do custom fit OE replacements so i'm investigating that route. My question is how do you get access to the rear speakers in a Fabia estate? I've read about someone peeling back the carpet but in my car, this seems to be very well secured to the bulkhead. Ive also spied some torx screws holding the platstic speaker trim/parcel blind support in place and wondered if this is the right way to go. I dont want to go too mad pulling carpet or undoing unnecessary screws in case i find myself in a place of sorrow! Your help is appreciated.
  6. Hi, I recently bought an '04 Fabia Estate (RHD) (couple of weeks ago) and I've been trawling through the excellent info on here. I've just replaced the air and pollen filter (thanks to the posts on how to do this). However, as I've seen that some people put the pollen filter in the wrong way, I just wanted to check which way the arrows should be pointing. At the moment, the arrows on the pollen filter point to the radio, NOT to the passenger door. Is this correct? Many thanks for your help in advance.
  7. Just to say Hi to everyone, I've been checking out this site since i acquired a used Fabia Estate '04 a couple of weeks ago. Its been very helpful, so a big thanks to all those people who provide excellent information. Its most appreciated.
