  1. Does anyone own the Foxwell NT680 Pro ? Foxwell themselves cannot confirm their Pro version will be able to prime the tdi diesel pump after a filter change I've a lite version which definitely doesn't (after buying it with false claims it does everything engine wise !). At £200+ for the lite's software update to Pro, I'm hesitant to fall for their flim-flam twice.
  2. Yes I am :sun: . It was exactly as the pictures made it out to be, and the whole combo of brakes, engine and suspension work so, so well together. Brilliant set-up and a credit to those concerned in producing it.
  3. That looks awesome, and I am looking for a SE (was looking ). Some serious time and money gone into it, not sure how it would cope with all the mini-speed bumps at my place of work though.

  5. I've had Sven for 2 months, done less than a thousand miles. I paid £18300 with the tow pack, and now it's valued at £15100, yikes some loss for the miles driven. With a suprise house purchase looming I'm selling Sven so had to ask what it's worth :'( Brilliant car though
  6. I fitted the sunglasses holder in approx 48 seconds, would have been quicker but needed to find my swiss army knife in the centre console. It unclips and the new one pops into the same hole.

With a spare set of wheels floating around in the garage, then yes I do take loose wheels down, it gives me a chance to clean off all the brakes etc. that you wouldn't be allowed to do in a tyre fitting bay. One thing I have seen this week caught my eye, I went into my local Skoda dealership and they had some cards on display stating they would beat any local tyre fitting quote for replacement tyres ! If anyone should know where to jack up our cars or use post ramps on them they should, so I might just give them a whirl if need be
  8. I refuse to use any jack supplied from the VW parts bin after a Touran one collapsed on me trapping my spare wheel under the car, and putting a rather large dent on the sill. The base on which it jacks from is just too small when it gets to it's higher lifting point where the wheel can be removed from the hub. Trolley jack 2 1/2 ton with high lift is my preferred garage tool. I also have a small bottle jack. One very good jack is a scissor version I kept from a transit van ! Huge lift and a very wide base. All three get used for something or other, bikes/cars etc. at home. Out on the road Gunk will do, and a mobile phone :yes:

    I've just taken collection of a set of genuine Skoda Yeti roofbars. A very nice ebay seller let me have them for £65, brand new, in the box with all the fixings and keys. Someone at Cardiff Audi listed them under YETTI, I thought one of you on here might have beaten me to them, but no they are all mine :yes: So I've now gone on sold my old Thule ones that needed a different fitting kit for £75, oh happy days
  11. I fitted all four black ones last week, doddle to fit and judging by the dust scuffs across them, they stop the paint being damaged by those blasted kids and muddy feet etc. Well worth the small outlay, but I wouldn't spend the money on the shiney ones.

  13. This is what we had last week. Wesfalia detatchable bar (which means it fits into the pre-formed holder under the floor). No towbar preparation in the car to start with. 13 pin electrics. Removable cover trim, and inner holding frame. £500 at our friendly Skoda dealer. They seem to use one local installer under sub-contract to them to do the actual fitting which cuts down SUK workshop time charges. They supply the OE parts, subbie fits them. My only problem was "someone" forgot to code it, and I'm awaiting a reply from the salesman, who I know is on holiday this week.(Shark coded it yesterday for me)
  14. You wont know until you get home if it works, just like myself. I called round to Shark performance and had Ben have a look this morning. Nothing switched on at all, so I paid him the money to do it right and he also gave me the very large MPH central display, what a plus that is seeing a large 30 when you have to guess what the other is doing. Start up sweep was just showing off, but a big thumbs up from me and rotten tomatos for sub-contractor towbar fitters. The Westfalia is an excellent addition and fits very well, the blanking cover hides it all when not needed.
  15. UK legal letters, font and size. BS stamped Can the ANPR read mine, yes 100%. My trailer and bike carrier both have "normal" plates and hitch up to the back of the car quite a bit, so dependant upon what day it is, my custom might not even be visable.

I went and used my 3 bike carrier today which uses the 13 pin electrics A failure on all four of the coding parameters.I asked on Saturday when I picked up the car " It's definitley been coded ?" "Oh yes" was the reply. Well oh no it hasn't and I shall be having words. My problem now is the 300 mile round trip if I return to the dealer to get it done :thumbdown:

  20. Watch out if you are out and about in Norfolk/Suffolk/Lincs/Notts this afternoon. Seventeen (Sven for short) is coming home. Seems ages waiting, but two and a half weeks is nothing compared to a full factory order, I suppose we fell lucky, right price, right colour, and the right spec. Pictures when we get home
  21. Modern VW stuff tends to use 4 pieces to the brakes. You have your own cars hub which the drive shaft goes through and drives the wheel You have the brake caliper carrier You have the disc rotors You have the caliper itself with the pads and hoses etc. On previous conversions I have done you cant change your hub but the other bits can be swapped around. Fitting bigger disc rotors means the caliper needs to be further away from the hub centre and the carrier gets replaced to widen the distance. Maybe your mechanic took one look at the new carrier hole centres/bolt diameter and knew straight away it wasn't going to fit. Or 303mm wouldn't fit inside the 17" wheels. Last one I did was a MKI vRS Fabia where Audi TT calipers and carriers were needed with slightly longer hoses.

  23. Snowy the vRS went North today with the new owner :S Winter rubber is all thats left. Un-used Pirelli 210's in 185/60/16 on black steel wheels. The perfect size/combo for a vRS even with bigger brakes fitted. Anyone have £400 to spend as the Yeti needs some bling paying for ?
  24. Now I'm not a local to Norfolk, but I've just placed an order for my third car from Simpsons in Gt Yarmouth. I don't know of anywhere that would stick trade plates on a showroom floor car, open up the big doors and let me out for a test drive as their "official" demos are off being used by staff over the weekend. Not once but twice they have done this for me, which is over and above what a sales team should do as these cars were prepared and polished, one having 0 miles on a Yeti 4x4. Trade in prices do vary from dealer to dealer, so you can play them off against each other and it can come down to who needs the sales that month to hit targets. If they have sold enough that month why should they offer you discounts. Luck does play a part when dealing,but Simpsons have always been honest on what they can and cannot do for you. 300 mile round trip in a couple of weeks to pick up car number 3 Onto the servicing side of things, it's just the same. The prices are cheaper than back home, always done on time, and no hidden extra charges. The car went in for a diagnostic when a ABS light flashed up and I wasn't charged a penny !
