  1. Has anyone worked out whether it can be stopped yet? Mine does it randomly and, as I keep the car in the garage, it's not very good for the blade.
  2. In my mind, there's no argument against getting a Superb. We bought a twindoor just over 3 years ago. After looking at the A6, 5 series and E class. We just couldn't see where the Superb fell down against these others (only in the eyes of our friends (who drive 5 series or E classes!)) After 3 years of ownership we needed to swap our second car - a Ford C Max. We chose a 170hp combi Elegance. Even better than the twindoor. A simply brilliant car. And out friends agree.
  3. Bloody Hell! That's what you call comprehensive. I prefer No2 though!
  4. Let down again. Called to arrange for them to check out my Satnav. Was advised I could drop it off at 10am and wander around Cheshire Oaks whilst they looked at it. I duly arrived at 10am to be told they couldn't look at the car until 2pm. Now, I don't mind a bit of shopping but 4 hours plus????? More than I could bear. Shan't be darkening their doors gain.
  5. Mixed results for me. Having been let down by Mitchells in Ellesmere Port (again) I decided to try these. Cons: Was initially ignored by three employees who were having a conversation. Whilst introducing myself found a male employee interrupting me to talk across to his colleague. When I phoned to book the appointment I advised the Satnav wasn't working and suggested it was more than likely to be the GPS unit (lots of stories of these going wrong and the split screen was showing no GPS fix, no satellites). Despite this, after confirming the GPS unit needs to be replaced, they advise they have to order one in and I need to go back next week. More time and travel costs. Pros: After looking for my keys the employee asked if I was in a hurry as they were just about to wash the car. Was offered a free taxi ride into town whilst they do the work next week I'll report back when they've done the work and we'll see how good they are then.
  6. To clarify, do you want the cloverleaf wheels photo-shopped to replace the ones on the original photo?
  7. And I love the additional 30bhp or extra torques. It goes like **** off a shovel. And my daughters love the electric seats.
  8. We've had a 140pd twindoor for 3 years or so and love it. So much so that I'm trading my C-Max in for another one. This one is a 170CR Elegance combi. 2 Superbs in the family. Not sure my side of the garage will be big enough. May have to throw out some of the crap! Seriously though. When it comes to families and dogs, these cars cannot be beaten. End of...
  9. 4.3 on a Galaxy S4 works just fine
  10. Thanks for that. Samsung weren't able to confirm for sure. Their supervisor offered up "if it work snow it'll work after the upgrade". Doesn't fill me with confidence.
  11. My O2 based Galaxy S4 keeps telling me to upgrade to Android 4.3 I'm reluctant to do so without being certain that this upgrades supports RSAP so I can continue to use my phone in my 09 Superb. Has anyone upgrade to this yet and confirm whether it still connects OK please?
  12. Which model year do you have? I have a galaxy S2 and went onto ICS when it was first available but lost RSAP with my MY09 so went back to GB. I cannot get a reply from Samsung to confirm that ICS and JB support RSAP. Loathe to upgrade (despite lots of benefits with the new OS) if there's even a remote chance I lose connectivity
  13. The catch for the seat belt on the passenger seat 'squeaks' but only when the seat is occupied. Perhaps the awful stuttering 'characteristic' (as VAG put it) of the 140 PD engine at around 1500 RPM could be added. From my point of view this is the worst thing about the car. Everything else is quite brilliant.
  14. Brilliant item. I found some from a VAG dealer on Ebay at £21. Even at £29 (massively discounted) well recommended. Easy to fit and quality product
  15. Damn (and fingers crossed). Warranty expired a month ago
  16. I indicated today and the interior lights were blinking twice as fast as normal - as you normally get when a bulb has gone. The computer started to tell me to check bulbs - one by one it listed every bulb in the car - helpful! When I could stop I checked by switching on the hazards. At the rear the orange lights were permanently on. At the front, and on the door mirrors they were normal. Tried the indicators in turn and the same result. An hour later, all was back to normal and no warning light. Anyone experienced this? I'm going to France in three weeks and could do without any problems.
  17. Well, I've had the Barum Bravuris 2s on for a couple of weeks and can heartily recommend them. Done a few trips on them. Noise levels are perfectly acceptable, grip is at least on a par with the Dunlops they've replaced. Nothing bad to say about them. We'll see how they wear.
  18. Crikey. You should manage 30mpg whilst driving like Lewis Hamilton. I get 45 and don't exactly hang around when the opportunity arises.
  19. I find it better on A roads eg: 40mph in 3rd gear for a few hundred yards and then 60mph in 4th etc etc. Anything with the revs well above 2500. Dual carriageway would work less effectively as you'd either be making loads of noise - 70 mph in 4th or driving too slowly and cause a hazard.
  20. Best solution, I've found, is to stay in low gears for longer. Keep the revs higher.
  21. I have a variety of driving but most is less than required to get the engine warm and the DPF working. As a result I tend to get that really annoying judder at around the 1500 RPM mark - I think this is exacerbated when the DPF is a bit clogged and the car needs a thrash to sort it out. Do bear that in mind.
  22. Aha! How clever. I thought a part (like the umbrella or warning triangle)was missing. Thanks
