  1. I bought my 2007 TFSI at 82k two years ago. Its now done 130k, and will do many more. If your buying a high mileage car, go for as young as possible. e.g. I'd rather have a 100k 3 year old car than a 50k 6 year old. Buy on condition and check the service history and major jobs have been done like cam belt. Lastly, find a good independent to halve your labour rates!
  2. I ran my TFSI on Tesco Momentum for 3 months over a mix of driving. MPG was exactly the same to the normal Tesco stuff over a 3 month period, 32.8 mpg. I can't say it drove any differently either.
  3. Swapped from Conti SC3 to these. Road Noise halved. Fantastic grip, wet or dry. Recommended.
  4. I have te 17s and use 32psi all round.
  5. I have the exact same tyres, but my stickers fell off. Will I lose grip?
  6. I swapped from Conti SC2's to Goodyear Eagle F1 Asymmetric 2 on my TFSI VRS. Tyre noise halved in my opinion. The fronts have done 21k and have 2.5mm of tread left. The rears have done 18k and have 4.5mm of tread left. A mix of normal driving with the occasional bit of excitement. I can't recommend the Goodyears enough - wet and dry grip are better than the SC2's in my opinion.
  7. F1 asymmetric 2. They replaced Conti SportContact 3's on my VRS and road noise halved. Grip is first rate.
  8. Mine uses approx 1litre every 3k miles. It's an 07 and done 100k. Assuming 18k between services on variable servicing that's 6 litres between services. Does anyone know the oil capacity of the engine? I wonder if an oil change is ever required at this rate!
  9. Condition and Service History are probably most crucial. Make sure servicing is up to date and the cam belt has been done. After those boxes are ticked buy the best condition on you can find. Throughly inspect /extended test drive or have it professionally inspected. My 07 TFSi is almost at 100k and it drives lovely. Be realistic with your maintenance budget and there is no reason why you can't double that mileage. Diesels seem to have more reoccurring expensive issues such as injectors DPF, DMF, but petrols have there issues too. (You don't say which you are after)
  10. The tensioner comes in the kit, so it would. Well done on saving cash. Take it to a dealers for servicing if you must, for warranty reasons, otherwise a use a good independent and pay half the labour rates.
  11. I was impressed with them on my old car. Wear rate was slow and I never noticed a lack of grip, despite "making progress". Currently running F1 Assymetric 2 which are very impressive.
  12. Checked the breather - not that. Ca you help, BishBashBosh?
  13. Not bad from a dealer. Just had mine done at an indi, inc water pump 320.
