  1. If thats the case, sounding positive man. I'm sure it is. If there was a general consensus on that I'll give it a go. Appreciate the reply👍
  2. After a break of 3 days, went to unlock the car with the fob - did not work, alarm still on. Unlocked the car door but alarm still on, I did not open the door in case I couldn't get the alarm off. Changed the battery in the fob but unsuccessful. Any suggestion what the next step is before I am faced with a costly call out for someone to a very rural location. Thanks.
  3. Cheers for getting back lads, hard pedal little brakes, sounds like servo hoses or servo itself Dave. Much appreciated.
  4. Hello, car is in excellent condition at 16500miles but after recent replacement shoes for MoT the brakes are so, so poor - they weren't that great to begin with tbh. Can anyone advise if there is a brake upgrade/improvements to be had? Its see's little use, a few shows a year and little running in between. Thanks.
  5. Hello, there was a Felicia Estate in white advertised a few months ago in Classic Cars for Sale. The car was located in the Bradford/West Yorks area, in very good condition with low mileage and supplied by DM Keith Ltd. Unfortunately whilst getting things arranged the car sold and I wonder if anyone in Skoda circles in the area knew of its whereabouts now. The car was meant to replace my skoda daft dad's old white one, he doesn't feel happy in my fabia and is thinking of giving up driving. Shame really as he's driven skoda's since '78. Any help would be greatly appreciated. Cheers all.
  6. Now Ive posted in the right forum I might see what joy I get here. Skoda Favorit Est LXiE, 94 M reg, 13200 miles (yes, immaculate in white too), is loosing all throttle power when up to operating temperature. Starting fine, idles perfectly sewing machine style, runs perfectly and does all things I ask of it and more, dual carriageway etc no problem at speed. HOWEVER, problem starts only at operating temperature when either, 1) accelerating away from when at stop from a juction, or 2) accelerating from a slow tight bend, or 3) slowing for a junction from when at normal speed. All of the above happens when under say 35 mph. Can sometimes start again immediately, when first realised the problem needed multiple efforts to start but i suspect it was only until the car had cooled enough to allow it. When starts it is running perfectly as before until 5 miles down the road when it decides to do it again!!! All temp guages etc reading normal. It has an immobliser but that works fine. Work thus far: New coil, new spark plugs, rotor arm, crank shaft sensor. VW sepcialist tried diagnostics using flash code but no information there. I will now replace the fuel pump relay, if this doesnt sort it it has to go unless somebody, anybody, can diagnose the problem. Bosch diagnostics will cost £200, throwing money down the drain if they cannot provide solution. Im at my wits end, can anybody help? :(

  8. HELP!! My new Favorit Est LXie 1995, with 136B engine and single point injection has developed an annoying fault. Car has only 12500 miles (yes really), have ran it properly for 2000miles with new oil after I bought it and is sewing machine superb. However, when running the car for say 20 mins at standard road speed, after I turn off to a junction when moving up the gears again there is no fuel delivery - but the engine ticks over fine, warning lights only come on when at stop. When freewheeling tried to jump start but no success. Car will start again after 3-4 mins (cooled down?) and behave like nothing has happened until it seems to get up to the same temp and stop again. &*$£@*#*!!!!!!!! I use the car daily for work. I have had the plugs changed and the coil too (often vw fault) but still happening. Dont want to start getting into new injection units etc - can anyone help or have you experience of this before? Thanks.
  9. .. Just to get the same performance as my previous the GLXie motor. Must be a different engine in the GLXie rather than the LXie.
  10. Any adivice to carry out simple improvements/upgrades to my M reg Favorit LXie Flairline Est - which will now be my daily drive for work. 10500 miles, still with original 15 year old 'Matador' tyres, Im sure the engine is a 136 B type. I had an M reg GLXie Flairline estate at 34k miles but sold it as I thought it was too extravagant with the alloys, seats and sunroof (leaking) and delaminating paint but the engine was tight, quiet and powerful - great. Bought an LXie Flairline est in immaculate nick thinking the engine would be the same - but its not. Had tappits adjusted but is gutless and more rattly compared to the GLXie motor. What simple things can I do to improve the performance of the engine? I am looking to change the tyres today for 165's uniroyal or similar. What can I do to improve the handling further? Thanks
  11. Hello all, new member from Aberdeenshire. Got into skodas about 18 years ago after going on a camping trip in my mates dad's C reg 120L 'the red barron' - smitten ever since. Ownership reads as follows: F reg Grey 120L at Uni - Newtonmore, A reg 120L Super Estelle - High Wycombe - recently salvaged by other enthusiast, deisel Fabia Est - Stirling, deisel Felicia Est - Dudley, 1.3L Felicia Hatch - Bolton (now mates motor), M reg Favorit GLXie Est, currently own X reg deisel Felicia Est AND newly purchased M Reg Favorit LXie Flairline Est in Swan White, 10k miles - a little cracker, which will be used as my work car. I will put a query on a new thread but my new M reg 10k miles LXie Fav est does not have nearly the same performance and is more rattly (despite recent tapit adjustment) as my previously owned M reg GLXie est. Need advice. All the best anyway.
